I sit limply on one of the bar stools, burying my face on the counter inside Liam’s kitchen. Everyone’s at the lounge, celebrating Zayn and Perrie’s engagement, while I decided to punish myself for being an unlucky witch.

“Hey, are you okay?” I hear Eleanor speak as she nudges my shoulder causing me to wobble and abruptly sit up straight. “What’s the matter? You look upset.” She remarks, concerned.

“Don’t mind me, El. Go back and join everyone.” I persuade with a meek voice and rest my head on my hand while my elbow leans on the table.

“I can’t just go back and leave you here looking like this.” She chides and sits adjacent to me.

“Now tell me. What happened? Is it about work? What happened to your shoot?” She bombarded me with questions and rested her chin on her hands, all eyes and ears on me.

Without hesitation, I told Eleanor everything that has happened to me earlier today. After knowing everything, she abruptly cursed Dana for betraying me. She even swore to herself to slap her when she sees her. But I admonished her. Instead, I encouraged her to just be calm and leave everything to me.

“Don’t tell Harry yet, okay?” I requested Eleanor.

“Why not? He’s your boyfriend.” She furrows her brows in uncertainty.

“He might get mad at me. He already warned me about Dana and I didn’t listen.” I stated timidly and burst a sigh, fiddling my fingers on the table.

Moments later, Perrie walks in to join us.

“What are you ladies talking about? Why so serious?” She asks cheekily and quickly sits next to me.

“Nothing.” I stated. “Anyway, about this Sophia. Where did Liam met her?” I ask, glancing at both Eleanor and Perrie.

Perrie curls her lips and shrugs, “He said they were schoolmates in Collegiate School of Wolverhampton.”

“So they knew each other for so long?” I ask again, peering at them.

They both shrug expressing uncertainty, and then I smirk.

“Uh-oh.” Eleanor alarms cautiously.

“What?” I exclaim, snickering meanly.

“I know that smile, Valerie.” She reprimands, pointing her finger on my lips suspiciously. “Whatever it is that you are thinking, just don’t.”

It’s amazing how Eleanor knows me already. Every smile, every blink of my eyes, every move I make, she knows the meaning.

“I am just going to talk to her.” I defend myself and stand up from my seat. “I want to get to know her better.” I utter slyly.

I turn around and see Eleanor from the corner of my eye hitting her own forehead in surrender. I exit the kitchen and walk towards the couch where Sophia is seated all alone.

While the boys are busy playing FIFA at the playroom, I quickly took the chance to sit next and talk to her. Hmm, actually, it’s more of an investigation with a little intimidation.

Yes, she’s pretty and Liam seems to be happy with her. But she’s not Danielle.

“Hey, Sophia.” I cunningly catch her attention. She drops her drink to the glass table and drag her sight to me.
