Tanya 

“I’m worried about Alex. She’s never acted like this before.” I said  referring to my eldest child while stirring my Ice tea a little bit harshly.

Day out namin ngayon ng BFF kong si Charlie. Nandito kami sa favorite hang-out namin, sa Guillians.

Charlie and I goes back a long way. We’ve been friends like forever. Kahit na total oppposite kami sa itsura mas lalo ng sa pag-uugali, feeling namin twin sisters kami. Actually our whole family are friends, like our husbands are the best of friends, now our children are living up to the legacy.

But life has its ups and downs. Even fairy tales have their dark sides. And at this moment, we are going thru tough times.

Masyadong naapektohan ang anak kong Alex sa pagkamatay ng best friend nyang si Sky. I can understand her grief. We all grieved for her,  for Sky is like a daughter to me also. But on Alex’s part, masyado nya itong dinamdam. Sarili nya ang sinisisi nya sa mga nangyari. Even if we keep on telling her over and over again that it’s not her fault, she still blames herself.

I suggested for her to visit a psychologist to help her with her loss, but that just earned me a glare.

Andrew, ang prince charming ng buhay, keeps on telling me to leave her alone and give her time to heal… But I can’t leave her alone!!!!

It’s been weeks since the funeral  but it seems that Alex is not recovering. Hanggang ngayon, hindi pa rin nya ito matanggap. Walang imik at palaging nagmu-mukmok. Makikita na lang namin sa isang tabi at tutulo na lang ang luha. She doesn’t want to share her burdens and nobody can penetrate her shell.

Even Adriane is worried about her! Well, I guess, that’s one thing that came out positive in that situation. Naging close na ulit silang magkapatid. Alex now values her kid brother. Maybe now she realized the value of life and she can no longer afford to be at odds with her kid brother.

But right now, I’m more worried about Alex, now that she’s already in Falcon University. Hindi na namin sya mababantayan ng husto…

“ Masyado syang na-down simula nung nawala si Sky. What if she do something stupid?! Baka kung ano na lang kabaliwan ang gawin non?! E kung i-withdraw na lang muna namin sya ngayong term. Magbakasyon na lang muna kami, para maaliw naman sya.”

“You are getting paranoid.” Kampanteng sagot ni Charlie.

“Kung ikaw ang nasa katayuan ko. Won’t you get paranoid?” I said looking at her in disbelief.

“Tanya,  I’m worried about her also. Parang anak ko na rin sya. Pero mas makakatulong kung magiging positive ang outlook natin. The atmosphere in Falcon can do her good, plus, her classes will distract her. Mas ok na nandon sya, kesa naman na magkulong ng magkulong sa bahay kasama ang napaparanoid na nanay! You worry too much! Hindi bagay sa yo!” sabi nya at binigyan ako ng nakakalokang ngiti!
