Ben's normal truck was substitued for an Escalade. Ben and Markus held open the door for Merecedes and Chevy. Ford and Dex stood awkwardly on the curb, not sure what to do.

"Hey Samson, be a gentleman, would ya!" Markus called over the SUV. Dex shrugged his shoulders and finally opened the back right side passenger door for Ford. She smiled awkwardly and said, "Thank you".

She still didn't know how to react given she and Dex hadn't spoken since Thursday after school. With everyone in the Escalade, Ben drove off.  All three girls looked at eachother and smiled.

"I was looking forward to the truck!" Mercedes teased as she glanced over and Ben. He smiled.

"We wanted to save on gas and keep more money in our pockets tonight." he teased. "No , my mom let me use the Escalade tonight, since she knew we were gonna be in a big group tonight." he explained.

"You talk to your mom alot, don't you? I try as much as possible to keep my conversations to a four sentence minimum, my mom always wants to know my business." Mercedes complained.

Ben frowned. "It doesn't bother me. I'm glad I have my mom to talk to..."  he said defensively. Mercedes wriggled in her seat uncomfortably.

"Im just saying....parents are always wanting to be all up in your kool-aid!" she stared out the window. Ben smirked to himself thinking she was so cute when she was uncomfortable.

Ford stared at Dex as he stared out his window, determined not to look her way and be swayed by her beautiful smile. She cleard her throat, hoping for some flinch or reaction from him. Nothing....Ford crossed her arms as she pouted and stared out her window.

Chevy and Markus sat in the final row of the Escalade watching the whole scene play out in front of them. Chevy couldn't help but smile, seeing Ford be pissed off for not getting attention.

Markus just laughed softly at how stubborn Dex could be. He was so surprised that he and Ben were able to convince Dext to come along. I guess promising to pay for his part and Ford's part of the date, didn't hurt either. Even though he knew they could have all paid for the girls tonight. He was hoping, Dex and Ford could talk out their differences and be okay again. He was liking this little group they had formed and didn't want any problems.

"We're  here!" Ben chimed in as they pulled into FAT PHILS PIZZERIA.

"Thank God!" Dex muttered under his breath. This infuriated Ford even more. She wasn't going to take more of his attitude. As they all piled out of the SUV, Ford pulled Dex aside.

"Listen Dex, I just wanted you to know that....that...." she trailed off, she wasn't sure what to say. Dex rolled his eyes and began to walk into the Pizerria.

"Figures..." he mumbled. Infuriated even more, Ford stood in front of him.

"What's that suppose to mean? What did I do that was so wrong?" she through her hands up.

Dex regarded her stance and couldn't help but think how sexy she was looking in her tight jeans and peasant shirt and high knee boots.

"Ford...I thought I made myself very clear, I'm not about being popular, people don't treat you for you, they treat you nice, only to get by. Your comment to Katrina, only shows me where you're headed. I don't want to get mixed up in that again..." he looked down.

Ford sighed loudly. Dex was right, she wanted to be popular, but only because that's what she was use to. Dex had a confidence that scared her. He didn't care that other people didn't like him. She wasn't like that. She needed to know everyone liked her!

"Dex....you're right, I do want to be popular..."

"I knew it..." he said angrily as he opened the door to the pizzeria. Ford grabbed his arm again.

"Let me finish! That's all I've ever known. Everywhere I've been to school, I'm in the 'It' group. But, when I'm with you, that really doesn't matter to me. You make me see things differently. What I said to Katrina, was just a dig at her..."

She put her head down and stared at her feet. "I just wanted her to know she couldn't push me around...I mean...do I like the thought of being Prom Queen? Uh...ya! Am, I gonna let it rule my life this last year?" she grabbed, his hand. "No...Dex, really I just want to enjoy my last year in highschool and if it means, going out of my comfort zone and being scared out of my mind, then so be it...There is more to me than just being the 'pretty and popular girl'. Please don't stop being my friend." Ford took a deep breath hoping what she said to Dex sunk in.

She really did like him and she wanted him to know it." I mean, I can't change who I am, but i can change what I do and how I react to things...can we still be friends?"

Dex looked at her hand in his, suprisingly he hadn't let her hand go, and he didn't want to. He knew everyone deserved a second chance, but at the same time was scared of how things could turn out with Ford. He heard what she was saying, but wasn't sure, if he could trust it. He squeezed her hand back and pulled her towards the door to the pizzeria. Ford looked up happily.

"Fine Ford, I'm gonna take you at your word. I want us to stay friends."  He flashed that dazzing smile at her. Ford grinned the biggest cheesiest grin she could muster. That made Dex laugh. "On one condition..." he became serious again.

"What?" she questioned, feeling her stomach tie back up in knots.

"You promise to always be honest with me." he looked at her cautiously.

"Always Dex!" he face brightened. He smiled back at her and pulled her into the pizzerria.
