XIV - Proposal

"Love?" Randhir asked

"Yeah. She told me and you know she's gonna ask jiggy out" she said

"What ? You mean Kaustuki will propose Jignesh ? It's always the boys right ?" Randhir asked with widened mouth

"Not necessarily. Even girls can do it " she said proudly

"Yeah they can" Randhir smiled thinking that if Sanyukta liked him then she would approach him herself and felt happy inwardly

"But I won't do anything like kaustu" Sanyukta said. But Randhir was so much indulged in his thoughts that he didn't hear that part out.

Their third year exams were approaching. Both Randhir and Sanyukta got busy with their studies. Their exams went quite well. Randhir always topped while Sanyukta was next to him.

But this time results were changed... Sanyukta stood first while Randhir second. Sanyukta jumped upon seeing the results and hugged Randhir tightly and pecked him on his cheek.

She then drew back and put her tongue out "sorry. I just got over excited"

"And over touchy" Randhir laughed trying to hide his blush.

He then returned to his room smiling

"What happened bro, you came second yet you are so happy " Parth asked

"So what ? Sanyukta came first and I'm happy for her." He said.

"Hmm. I see then you are in love definitely" Parth said deeply

Randhir threw a pillow on Parth.

"What ? I said the truth. Last time when Sanyukta topped in one subject you were upset but now she just beat you completely and you're so happy." He pointed out

"Actually yes. What's wrong with me ?" Randhir spoke scratching his head

"It's called love ,my son" Parth said dramatically

"Shut up. Am I really in love ?" He asked confused

"Yes you are. Pretend how much ever you want but your heart knows it all" Parth said and left the room.

"How do you find Randhir?" Vidushi asked Sanyukta

"What ?" Sanyukta asked confused

"I mean do you like him ? He's so hot"

"Shut up. And I don't like him...I don't like anyone"

"But I think he likes you. It's seen in his eyes...its you who is blind towards it" Vidushi rolled her eyes

"Whatever" Sanyukta said and fled from her room to meet Randhir.

Sanyukta was sitting in the canteen waiting for Randhir. It was their last day of third year. They were all going back in the evening. She was upset upon that and now Vidushi had just mentioned that Randhir liked her. That can't be truth she thought and made up her mind to ask Randhir the truth.

He came and saw her upset. He just knew what would cheer her up. He ordered a cup of cappuccino and walked towards her.

He placed the cup in front of her and said "For my beautiful lady"

She smiled seeing him. He sat down across her and he read out an excerpt from her favorite novel.

She giggled and said "Randhir , whoever is gonna marry you or become your girlfriend is really gonna be lucky."

"You think so?" He asked with raised eyebrows

"Obviously any girl... Really any girl could fall for you" she said positively

"So..Do you wanna become lucky?" He whispered

She saw him with wide eyes.

"Sanyukta.. I really really like you. Do you wanna become Lucky ?" He asked

She put her cup aside, picked up her phone and walked away from the canteen leaving heart-broken Randhir.
