I - Make Way For Sanyukta

Sanyukta Agarwal entered into grounds of F.I.T.E. She looked around to find so many parents seeing off their children. They were hugging, giving bags and telling I'm gonna miss you and here she was all alone struggling with her bags.

Sanyukta started walking inside the campus. Everything seemed heavy. her heart, Her bags and the crowd.She stumbled across her suitcase and was about to fall. She squeezed her eyes shut expecting to fall down with a thud but she didn't. she felt a strong pair of arms by her waist which prevented her from falling. She slowly opened her eyes and found it was boy.

"He's cute" she thought. She smiled at him. That seemed to irritate him. he immediately left her and she fell on her bags. She got up to find him walking away. She called out loudly "Hello,Mister... Hey.I'm calling you" Paying no heed to her, He walked away

She finally got into her room. She had to share her room with to other girls - Kaustuki Sherpa and vidushi Kumar. Both were there,unpacking.

She introduced herself and they made pretty good friends.

That night, Sanyukta rolled on her bed. But she couldn't sleep. Memories of past seemed to be haunting her. The previous day's argument came up in her mind

"Dad, Please i really wanna go there" Sanyukta pleaded

"No is a no Sanyu" Her father told sternly

"Dad,It's always been my dream to become a mechanical engineer.Please lemme do this" She asked

"Sanyu,Girls aren't made for mechanical engineering" Her mother crossed her

"Then what are they made for?" She asked

"Kitchen,of course" answered her brother with a smirk on his face

"dad - this is the 21st century. It's now equality going on.You can't do this" She complained

"Don't teach me what to do and what not to. you aren't going to that stupid university.It's final"

"It's not stupid.It's F.I.T.E dad. India's best engineering college" She argued

"Sanyu,I'm gonna do whatever I want but you aren't going there"

"Then even i'm gonna do whatever pleases me" She said rudely.

Sanyukta ran to her room,packed her bags and came out.

"I'm going there and stop me if you can"

"We aren't paying your fees" her brother told

"I don't need your money. I have it in my account.And i'll also do part-time job and so that i can pay my next year's fees" she said

"We aren't paying for your hostel as well" he said

"Fine by me.I'll stay on roads but i'm going there" She said coolly

When he family realized that their stubborn daughter couldn't be stopped now ,her father spoke "Okay go do your engineering but always remember we aren't happy with this. We'll pay your fees and all but don't expect the parental love you were receiving before to be continued."

Her mother tried to stop her and tried to make her understand that she shouldn't go there. At last when sanyukta stepped out of her house she heard her mother shout "Do whatever you want but if anything happens like last time because of your bad decisions don't come running to us"

upon hearing those words Sanyukta shook with fear.Her decisions - it always went wrong. She had seen an live example.But she had to be firm on hre decision as being M.E engineer was her childhood dream afterall.

In present, Sanyukta wiped her tears. She couldn't fall weak. She had to be strong. Of whatever happened to her, she shouldn't get affected by it. Past was past and it should be buried. She just had to make sure she wouldn't repeat the same mistake once again.
