Blue Brothers

(Chapter 12 – How We Party And Play – The Volume 1 Finale)

Another month has passed, and the seniors of St. Patrick’s Academy are having their high school graduation. The boys are wearing their blue toga. Today is also Carlos’s 18th birthday. Talagang pinlano na ni Johnny ang graduation date as a birthday gift for his son.

Habang busy at excited ang lahat, nasa isang sulok lang sina Tom at Carlos. Naiinggit sila habang pinapanood ang kanilang batchmates na may mga kasamang magulang.

“Huwag na kayong malungkot. Nandito naman kami ni Ms. Jessie eh. Kami muna ang parents niyo ngayon.” nakangiting sabi ni Frank sabay akbay sa dalawang binata.

“Oo nga. Enjoy your graduation. Lalo ka na Carlos, birthday mo pa naman. I’m sure, pinapanood lang kayo ng Dad niyo.” sabi naman ni Jessie.

Pagkalayo saglit nina Frank, biglang may inilabas na papers si Carlos at iniabot ito kay Tom.

“Ano ‘to?” tanong ni Tom.

“Valedictory speech ko mamaya.” nakangiting sabi ni Carlos.

“Ikaw na! Ikaw na ang Valedictorian!” natatawang sabi ni Tom habang tinitingnan ang mga papers.

“Pa-proofread naman, o!” biglang sabi ni Carlos. Nagulat si Tom at nagtaka.

“Ikaw talaga! Eh wala ka namang mali sa grammar eh. Binasa ko na. Tama naman yung ‘If I was’ pati yung ‘If I were mo’.” sabi ni Tom sabay balik ng papers. Nagtawanan lang sila ni Carlos.

Maya-maya ay nagsimula na ang ceremonies. The whole senior batch marched their way to the front area of the grand auditorium. Nasa side seats naman sina David at Shiro habang kinukunan ng video ang kanilang mga kuya.

Then it was time for Carlos to share his speech. Nasa front row naman si Tom dahil isa siya sa mga honor students.

“If I was rude this school year, I’m very sorry. If I were given the chance to go back in time, I would hug my father everyday, and tell him how great he is. I love you, dad! I would also like to spend more time with my brothers, David, Shiro and my new buddy, Tom.” nakangiting sabi ni Carlos.

“And to the graduates of Batch 2011, congratulations and we may have a bright future ahead of us!” sigaw ni Carlos sabay taas ng diploma.

Agad namang tumayo at pumalakpak ang lahat ng mga estudyante.  

“By the way guys, after the ceremony, you are all invited to my 18th birthday celebration at the Blue Sky Mansion. See you there!” pahabol ni Carlos. Lalong nagsigawan ang mga estudyante.
