Thanks for reading guys, here is the newest chapter, enjoy!!

The room the pack meeting was being held in was as luxurious as the rest of the house, I gripped Jay’s hand tighter as each person filled in. They all seemed to give me equally weird glances, finally when the room was full the beta began speaking,

“As you know we’ve been having trouble with the neighbouring pack- Los Lobos.” the pack erupted into boos almost immediately, what was with all the wolf references in all these pack names?

“We’ve had a few run ins with them but we’ve dealt with that, Alpha Jay is going to take over.” The beta gave Jay a courteous nod before sitting down, once again the pack erupted into cheers this time,

“Thank you, thank you for coming at such short notice and thank you to Mike for opening the meeting,” so the beta was called Mike, I was surprised at the tone of the meeting it was quite relaxed nothing I thought it would be,

“There have been problems regarding over border lines, we’ve had a few confrontations and if this continues we’ll have to resort to a war.” I stiffened at the word; everything I’d been trying to avoid was rushing back to me. “She’s half human!”

“She can’t even shift, how will she protect the pack?”

“Quiet!” Jay’s loud voice reverberated throughout the room, instantly it became silent,

“It doesn’t matter what Carmen’s past is, who her dad is or if she’s half human. What matters is that she’s my mate and you will show her respect!” by the end of his rant most people were cowering in their seats,

“Dismissed.” Everyone instantly rushed to the door and within a minute the room was empty leaving me and Jay alone.

“Well that went well.” I muttered dryly, I hadn’t expected everyone to love me instantly but I didn’t expect them to react the way they had,

“It doesn’t matter what they think Carmen, don’t let them get to you.” I smiled up at his towering frame,

“I know, let’s go get an ice-cream.” I started heading out the room,
