If God Has Forsaken Me

If God has forsaken me

Then I shall forsake him

I won't listen for his voice

And act as if I can hear it

I'll stop pretending to fit

I will lock all my doors

And I shall swallow the key

Light will not reach me

In this dark cell

I shall become forgotten

To all that knew me

And in return

I shall forget them too

And here I shall forever wait

For some unknown reason

But if by chance

You come to find me

Will you think me most terrible?

Will you turn and run at the sight?

Will you vow to protect me?

Or will you never come?

It has been so long already

And you still have not come

Should I keep hoping?

Will you come one day?

Have you already come and gone?

Are you dead and waiting for me?

Perhaps God has stolen you?

Its of no importance

I know I am doomed anyway

The only thing I wish for

Is that you would come for me

And let me see you cry

Your brown eyes hazy

And your dark hair ashen

As you burn alive with me

In the place I was banished to

The place farthest from God

Yet so close to Heaven

Come for me soon

Come to the planet Earth

And find me amoung the humans

I am no longer your angel

I am not of mankind

I am simply....

A monster that has been forsaken
