Relaxed and Floated Into Space...

Author's Note: I got this poem idea from my sister Niniami and the song Into The  Ocean by Blue October, hints the title. I hope you enjoy! :)

Life is such a funny thing to have

One minute things are perfect

The next everything's falling apart

And then everythings gone

But regardless what happens

We keep going through life

Empty shells that are people

We march like tiny soldiers

Forever following an unheard drum

But the drum grows faint

And eventually goes silent

And the soulless beasts

That parade around as human

All take their last breaths

Mutter their final words

Receive empty goodbyes

And watch as their beloved

Are ripped apart at the seams

So I'd like to think I'm different

I chose when and how to depart

I wanted this destiny

I made my own fate

So why am I sitting here crying

With this loaded pistol to my head

And the only thought is

If you've eaten or not

Will you sleep tonight

Do you know what I am doing

Are you thinking about me

Will you care when you discover

That tear-stained note by your door

But the one thought in my mind

That makes me want to waver

Is if after this you'll finally remember

Who I was before all of this

Before everything went to hell

So I take a jagged inhale

And I let it out hesitantly

Close my eyes to the outside

And I allow my finger to slip

And for a minute it hurts

My world is covered in red pain

But it dulls, and when it does

I think of just your face

And I relaxed and welcomed it

This cool unending darkness

That wraps my body like a blanket

And carry me off to happiness

Where all I have to do is close my eyes

And I see your smiling face...
