EpilogueAnd so it was that the Fourth Age rose over Middle Earth in a mighty stroke of fate's change. It's as before, with the seasons, nature, mankind, and time. The world is at peace, once again, in the pleasant aftermath of Sauron's destruction.
Yet existence is not completely similar to before, when Erudian Houdart did not meet Gandalf the Grey Wizard within the dusty walls of Mordor and six decades prior. What was once the Age of Man is now the age of many races, but moreover, the Age of Love, Family, and Companionship. The rerun of fate with the entrance of Erudian Houdart fosters a community of difference, bound in the similar loyalty of life and will to be virtuous. There are both the figures of legends and commoners of Middle Earth.
The elves sailed to the Grey Havens at the end of the War of the Ring, although in lesser numbers than once before. Celeborn led the small group in the last boat to the Havens, willingly leaving Galadriel behind to spend eternity with Gandalf the White and in the companionship of Lord Elrond.
And the elven lord of Rivendell held no fear in the assumed mortality and loss of Arwen. Instead, Aragorn and Arwen became of like-blood with a Phoenician tear that matched that of Elrond's. All is well, for Arwen will no longer face mortality in death, and Aragorn can rule eternally at the side of the one he loves. They are the greatest rulers in the history of Gondor.
