Mello: Emotions Get the Best of Me

Almost a week has past since this guy named Mello showed up asking- no, demanding for my help. He said Rod had told him to contact me if he ever needed professional help from a con artist with or without the Mafia, so here I am.
As a con artist who despises people such as Kira and hearing his plan before making my decision, and I could tell he was serious about this case and what he wanted to do about it.
Mello told me everything he knew and was able to do in the past to uncover the truth about Kira. All he needed was my help to capture him.
So here we are, the twenty-sixth of January, and ready to go with the plan we had made.
Mello leaves on his motorcycle as I hop into Matt's car. This is going to be an interesting day.

~Five Minutes Later~
We've made sure Takada is taken by Mello, and now we've just to get away from these guys body-guarding Takada.
I sigh as I see Matt gets us cornered, and I look at him and slightly shift my eyebrows up to give him the sign do as we planned. Matt groans, but immediately puts his act on and forcefully grabs my hands and put them behind me, holding me as a trap. With his other hand, he opens the door on his side of his car, then pulls me out with him with the pistol against my head.
Already having my act on since I gave Matt the signal, I shout, "Kira, save me! Somebody, please?!"
We hear a few of the guards talking, then Matt says, "Why don't we do an exchange? I'll let this girl free if you guys let me free? This girl knows where Takada is, so she'll give you the information once I'm free. But first, you have to put away all the weapons, or else this girl is dead.
"Keep in mind that I kept her hostage in case it had ever came to this situation; a hostage with valuable information to find Takada. Of course, we've had her for a few days, and we're prepared for this situation where you have Takada's whereabouts and I'm set free. This had been thoroughly plotted specifically for today."
I hear some chat between some of the men and something about Kira and giving him this guy's picture.
One nods, and accepts the deal, as the other men kneel down to put their weapons down as one guy walks closer to us.
I whisper, "Now."
With that, Matt shoots the guy along with a few others and gives me time to pull out my two guns and start shooting at the guards.
Adrenaline fills me up, and as I shoot the last guy in my view, I laugh to myself, "I couldn't ask for a much better job than this."
Unlike my mentor, I'm not afraid or hesitant to use a gun.
As we finish, we get back into the car, and forcefully drive through a few of the cars that had blocked our path, which actually makes it through with only minor damage to Matt's car.
"Nice job, [Y/N]. I had no idea you were that good at fake-crying." said Matt as he drove to the place Mello said to go once we escape.
I smirk, "I grew up with a con artist with the alias of Aiber; he taught me what I had to know. You've got some nice talent too."
We see the van Mello was going to use, and follow it.
After a few minutes of following it, we stop at not too far from a yellow warehouse which we figured where Mello's competition and Kira are. We'd have stopped right outside, but apparently, we saw someone waiting outside the building.
Mello had parked his van out of the view and is going to keeping eye on Takada while watching out for our signal that we know Kira and/or the Second Kira is.
Matt and I are going to check out this person and see if this guy is part of the plan Mello had told us; if he's the Second Kira, aka Teru Mikami.
We walk arm in arm up to the person, acting as if we're a couple on a date.
As we get closer, we see it's one of the guys we're looking for, so I put on a nice smile, I say, "Good afternoon, sir. My boyfriend and I were wondering why you're alone here and if you needed a ride anywhere."
The man -trying to smile looking sane- had answered, "No, it's fine. I'm just waiting for a friend. Go on ahead."
"Are you sure? We wouldn't mind giving you a ride now."
Matt -as he was told- says close to my hidden microphone, "Babe, just leave him alone; its his decision. I'm sure his friend is more important."
"Later, kids; be safe." Mikami said while turning around.
I nod and let go of Matt. He runs over to Mikami and pins him down. I grab the Death Note as it falls to the ground from underneath his armpit and keep it in possession while trying to help keep Mikami down as we wait for Mello. Instead of being patient, I just knock the guy out so he won't be too much trouble.
Mello arrives with Matt's car, and sees me sitting on the Second Kira with Matt leaning against the door holding the Death Note.
Before he was able to say a word, someone walks out of the warehouse and asks Mello why he's here.
"The same reason as Near. Where is he? I want to tell him that I've capture the Second Kira and I've got one of the Death Notes."
The man looks shocked and goes back inside. We hear him say, "Near, Mello's captured the Second Kira and has the fake Death Note."
A different man walks out with a pair of handcuffs -for whom I assume would be for Mikami- so I get off the guy, and let him do his job. He stays with Mikami out here and a younger male voice hollers, "Mello, I see you're still alive. Come on in."
Mello grunts with a disapproved face and tells us to follow.
We follow him in to see quite a few people. A male who looked to be around two years younger than Mello, and people who looked to be from police agencies.
I see the young guy smiling quite creepy yet adorable. But honestly, it looks more creepy than adorable...
A young, black-haired guy across the room asks, "Near, who the hell are these guys? You told us it'd be just you guys here; you didn't mention three teenagers!"
Near answers, "Mello was actually going to be the other successor to L; but he didn't want to team up, so he left. I knew he'd try to make it today, but I wasn't sure; so I didn't say anything at all."
Mello glares at Near, "I can speak for myself. I've already figured it out anyways. Light Yagami is Kira, and Teru Mikami is the Second Kira. We've captured Mikami, and he had the Death Note."
Mello had held the Death Note up to show everyone.
Light Yagami shouts angrily about how this is a set up, then Near had said the Death Note Mello has is a fake and he's got the one, so because of that, he's been able to see a Shinigami since they walked in here.
Mello explodes with anger asking if it really is a fake, and so Near tells him to bring it over so he can prove it.
Reluctantly, Mello does so, and Near shows him what he means along with the names Mikami had written down before we arrived.
Light tries to act as if he had been set up, but a few of the men who he had came with calmly try to tell him that it's over and he lost.
Light tries to write a name on a piece of the Death Note, but us shot by one of the Japanese guys until he is almost dead.

~After Dinner~
"[Y/N], thanks for today. Without you, I doubt Kira would have been captured. I'm pretty sure Matt would have died by the guards earlier today, and if you and Matt hadn't check out the warehouse ahead of time, we wouldn't have caught Kira and the Second Kira. And I probably would have died with Takada in that van." Mello said with a straight face without his usual harsh tone.
"No problem. Just contact me whenever you need help with anything I could do." I continue, "I was -after all- trained by one of L's trustees, and you are supposed to be a successor to L."
Shocked, Mello asks, "L really had a con artist working for him?"
"Yup. I was trained under Aiber. But like L, he was killed by Kira." I say.
Awkwardly, Mello changes the subject, "If you want, you, Matt and I can continue working together. Really, if it weren't for you, we wouldn't have done it. We'd both be dead. We owe you."
Out of excitement, I kiss Mello who actually kissed me back.
After the kiss, I sigh and say, "Sorry, sometimes I let my emotions get the best of me; that was unprofessional."
Without looking away from his game console, Matt comments, "Don't worry about it; Mello always does it. You're perfect for each other."
I look at Mello and see him glare and get slightly angry at Matt for his words, but he seemed to hold back with a light blush.
I giggle and hold Mello who holds me back.
