Going out was never a problem for me, especially when I had told my mothers that it was a date. They didn't even expect that it was a male. They didn't know that I was going out somewhere with Axel.

Normally, they wouldn't have a problem with it. But, if I had have told them, they surely would have flipped. Because I was going somewhere alone with Axel.

And if anyone was to be labelled as the most heterophobic couple in my town, it would be my mothers.

It would've never been expected that their only daughter would fall for a boy.

It would have never been accepted if their only daughter had fallen for a boy.

That's why we kept the whole thing as a secret; from my friends, family and everyone in the town.

That's why, when Axel and I went on our first date - turns out he too questioned the ways of the heterophobic- we had double-checked that no-one else was there to witness what society would call a atrocity.

We were careful.

So very careful.

But we just didn't notice the window cleaner.
