Mercy's P.O.V
 
 
The bell rings for class to end and Tyler, Rachel and I walk out of class and head towards the front door when Marnie stops us.
 
"Ty, what about me? What am I supposed to do?" she asks.
 
"Well, you could come with us..." I say trying to be nice.
 
"No, trust me it’s not her thing." says Tyler.
 
"Where are you going?" she asks.
 
"Birthday lunch at my house! We do this every year, well with the re-addition of Tyler." I say.
 
"Oh, well what do you like eat?' she asks.
 
"That’s a secret! Only my brother and my two best friends know that." I say.
 
"Oh well, as long sit doesn’t involve me getting fat..." she trails off.
 
"Never mind then..." I say.
 
"Wait! You said you had a brother...is he cute?" she asks.
 
"Uhmm... Not to me he’s not!" I say.
 
"Oh, well im just going to go to the library then...” she says walking away.
 
"Um, the library is in the other direction." I call out to her before we walk out of the school.
 
 Sitting in the limo on my way home we listen to the radio. The song Hush by Emily Osman and Josh Ramsey comes on. Rachel and I start singing along the words.

One more tryHush, hush don’t say a word" we sing and Tyler joins in. By the end of the song we pull up outside my house and we all get out walking up the driveway and in the front door.
"Mom! Were home!" i call out.
 
"Hey hunny, we were just waiting for you to show up." she says.
 
"Well we are here. All three of us." i say.
 
"Well come on into the kitchen were all waiting." she says.
 
We walk into the kitchen and take our seats as mom prepares everyone’s dishes. She knows all of our favorite things to eat and she makes enough for us each to have our own plate of what we like.
 
All together she makes 6 dishes.  She is the best mom ever! I grab a spoon and go straight for my chocolate brownie fudge pudding before even looking at everything else.
 
"Same old Mercy...” Tyler says with a smirk on his face.
 
"What can i say, some things never change." I say.
 
"Well, that’s true. Lots of things never change." he says.
 
 
 
David's P.O.V
 
 
 
HOW CAN SHE TAKE HIM BACK IN HER LIFE SO EASILY?! AFTER WHAT HE DID TO HER! I CAN’T BELIEVE THIS IS THE SAME GIRL WHO JUST YESTURDAY WAS SAYING THAT THE NEXT TIME SHE SAW HIS FACE SHE WAS GOING TO KNOCK HIM OUT... WHY IS HE SO SPECIAL?!
 
I’ve been thinking this all morning. I came home early because of it. I couldn’t concentrate. All I can think about is how he hurt her before, and i will not let it happen again!
 
 
 
Tyler's P.O.V
 
 
 
This feels so right. Sitting here next to Mercy, only her brother keeps giving me comfterble glares. It’s kind of creepy.
 
"David, you got a problem or something?" I ask.
 
"Yeah, I do. And it’s you!" he says.
 
"What did I ever do to you?" I ask.
 
"She is my fucking sister! Do you know how bad you hurt her?!" he says.
 
"Look, okay! I came back because I felt bad. I know what I did was wrong! You dont need to remind me!" I say.
 
"Might as well go back to your big, important life, because in case you haven’t noticed she doesn’t want you here!" he says.
 
That actually hurts. I can’t believe he would say that. She seems so happy today. I mean yeah we had a bit of a rough start today but things have gotten better.
 
"I can’t believe you just said that!" Mercy says before I can say anything.
 
"What is up with you Mercy? It’s like I dont even know you anymore! What happened to yesterday? Huh! You know when you said and I quote. 'if I ever see that jerk again I will knock him the fuck out!' hmm?" he says.
 
"Mercy...” I say
 
"Liar!" she screams at her brother
 
"You know what Tyler! If she won’t knock you out then I will!" he says. "Come on!"
 
 
 
Mercy's P.O.V
 
 
 
"I can’t believe you just said that!" I snap at my brother.
 
"What is up with you Mercy? It’s like I dont even know you anymore! What happened to yesterday? Huh! You know when you said and I quote. 'If I ever see that jerk again I will knock him the fuck out!' hmm?" he says.
 
"Mercy...” Ty says in a sad tone.
 
"Liar!" I scream at David.
 
Yeah I mean I know I said something like that, but I dont want to torture Tyler.
 
"You know what Tyler! If she won’t knock you out then I will!" David says. "Come on!" I watch as he puts his right check.
 
"Hit me right here." he says. "I'll let you have the first punch."
 
"I'm not gunna fight you man." Tyler says.
 
"Really, because I think you are." David says before charging at Tyler and punching him square in the jaw.
 
That’s when everything went downhill. I can’t believe they would do this to each other. I walk out of the room and Rachel follows behind me. I can’t watch this! We sit in the living room and wait until we hear complete silence. I get up walking back into the kitchen. Ty is getting up from the ground and Dad has David pinned against the wall. I walk over to Ty and help him up the rest of the way.
 
"Ty, I think you should go." I say almost in tears. This is the worst birthday ever and it’s not even close to being over.
