I've Been There

I've been there

You may not think it, but I have

Staring at the clock until the hours pass

I was so numb, numb, numb

Wishing for someone to come...

I've been there

I've been alone and afraid

Hated and abused and betrayed

You wouldn't guess it from looking at me

Because all the time I act happy and carefree...

I've been there

When it's all I can do not to die

So instead I'd trace a knife on my thigh

I've said goodbye to short sleeve t-shirts

Because they show the world how much it hurts...

I've been there

When I've tried to get back on my feet

Even though I just wanted to admit defeat

I've smiled through the hard times when I was alone

Because I was so tortured by what I hadn't known...

I've been there

When everyone's stared and hated

But on Wattpad I just updated and updated

When everyone acted shocked and confused

But I pretended to be nothing more than bruised...

I've been there

Felt lonely, lost, scared and stressed

Suicidal, friendless, it was more than depressed

But I still managed to slam a smile on my face

They didn't know I always felt out of place...

I've been there.

But now I'm here.
