2 WEEKS LATER

Today was Friday. Game Day. My first game.

I felt nervous, anxious, and scared all at once.

I wore my school sweats that came with the cheerleading uniform. Our colors were black, blue, and green. Our mascots were the Generals.

Since I joined the cheer team, my free period turned into practice. All the cheerleaders had their practice last period so we wouldn't be smelly going to another class.

Things are supposed to go normally. We go to all of our classes, then practice, and then we just chill till the game starts. It was a home game so we didn't have to go anywhere.

Since I joined the squad, I had to go through obstacles since I was a newbie. They weren't anything hard just a little embarrassing. One thing I had to do was ask a football player to marry me in front of the school cafeteria while I wore dirty clothes and my hair messed up. Good thing I knew Darius and he gladly accepted my terrible proposal. I had to buy a ring pop and place it on his finger.

He hasn't stop laughing about it and that was two weeks ago.

After my week of mini torture I was allowed to sit with the A-team, but I decided to continue sitting with Darius and his friends. Chelsea wasn't offended and she still seemed nice.

Darius confirmed that she usually is and isn't anything like the movies but he wouldn't put it past Megan to be mean.

There has to be a mean girl somewhere, right?

"Excited?" Darius asked

"Yea."

"Nervous?"

"Definitely." I laughed

Jake said he was going to be at the game tonight so it made it even worse.

"You'll do fine." He reassured me

"Thanks. Are you going to be there?" I asked

"Of course. I have to support you."

"Aww. Thanks." I smiled

The rest of the day went by smoothly. We reviewed the small cheers we would do on the sidelines then the halftime dance smoothly.

We all grew a little hungry after practice and Gracie, Chelsea, and another member Alisa and I decided to get something to eat. Gracie drove us in her car, red convertible Mercedes Benz. We ate at Subway, talking about everything under the sun. After about two hours, it was time to head back and get dressed.

Both the A-team and B-team got dressed in the bathrooms and locker rooms. The skirts came a little under our butts, I'm glad we had on spanks. Our vest stopped right over our belly buttons, showing off our stomachs. I felt a little uncomfortable but the anxiety was overpowering it.

I had my hair pinned up into a bun with a few bobby pins into twisties.

Both of the teams were cheering in the halftime show. The B-team cheered in the bleachers of the gym while we were supposed to cheer on the sidelines.

I kind of felt bad that they were barely seen.

We headed to the doors connected to the gym. The game was scheduled to start at 6:15. It was 5:55. At 6 they would announce the B-team, then A-team, then our basketball team.

We peeked inside the gym and it was nearly packed on both sides. I grew nervous with all of those people.

What if I fell? I felt queasy at the embarrassing thought.
