Chapter 7

-Evo's POV-

OUR wedding day had came. It's a garden wedding. Iyon ang gusto ni Chloe. Gusto niyang sa garden lang namin mismo ganapin ang kasal. Wala ring bisita kundi ang mga kaibigan namin at sila ninang.

Simple pero maganda ang ayos ng garden. They created an aisle by putting tropical plants on both sides. There's an altar with a small garden trestle covered in exotic plant. A thick white carpet of rose petals with different colors strewn down the aisle. Sila mom lang din ang nag-ayos ng lahat kasama sila Ninang Cassie. Hindi sila kumuha pa ng wedding coordinator. Request ni Chloe na gawing sekreto ang lahat ng ito.

Isang linggo na rin kaming hindi nagkikita ni Chloe. She went to Bataan and she didn't even go to school to attend classes. Medyo naapektuhan ang pag-aaral niya. Lalo na nang malaman niyang laging umiiyak si Cheenie. Nahuli kasi kaming magkasama ni Cheenie ng parents niya minsang papalabas kami ng school at nalaman na nila ang relasyon namin.

Hindi rin si Cheenie pumapasok pa at isang linggo na rin. According to Junjie hindi raw lumalabas ng kwarto at panay lang ang iyak. Sinubukan kung tawagan pero mukhang off ang cellphone. Hindi ko masabi ang nangyari sa amin ni Chloe dahil sa kagustuhan mismo ni Chloe. I really want to tell her the truth but Chloe stopped me. Naisip ko rin na itago na lang muna para sa kapakanan ni Chloe. Kapag nalaman kasi sa school paniguradong mahuhusgahan si Chloe.

Kung ako lang, ayos lang sa akin, pero hindi si Chloe. Walang masamang reputasyon sa school si Chloe at masisira 'yon sa oras na malaman ng lahat ang nangyari sa amin. Kapag nalaman ng lahat ang tungkol sa pagpapakasal namin.

"Hey, Evo. You okay?" Kelly interrupted at me.

"Yeah." Tipid kong sagot at sinipat ko ang relong pambisig ko- 6 o'clock- and the sun is coming down.

"You look tense. Para kang groom na kinakabahang hindi siputin ng bride," said Kelly and chuckled.

"Don't worry twin bro, she's already here." She pointed behind me and I followed her finger to where she was pointing.

I immediately stood up as I saw Chloe with her mom walked toward the direction where we are. She's so lovely in her simple yet elegant white dress. Nakataas ang ayos ng buhok niya. May kaunting make-up. Napahinto siya bigla nang magtama ang mga mata namin. Sa totoo lang parang nabunutan ako ng tinik sa dibdib nang makita ko siya. Kinakabahan ako na baka hindi siya sumipot. Iniisip ko these past few days na baka hindi na siya bumalik pa dito. But here she is.

Mommy approached her and handed the bouqet of flowers to her. Parang may sinasabi si mommy sa kanya and she lightly shook her head for an answer. My mom smiled and touched her cheek and uttered something. I assume it was 'It's okay"

Giniya siya ni mommy papunta sa kung saan ako nakatayo. Hindi siya tumitingin sa 'kin. Bahagya siyang nakatungo. Masaya siyang binati ni Kelly at niyakap.

"I know it's hard for you two, but...."

"It's okay tita." Chloe interrupted my mom.

I expelled an heavy breath to unleash my anxiety before I offered my arm to her. She lifted his head and I caught her eyes and she slowly clung to me. Muli ay yumuko siya para iwasan ang mata ko.

Pumwesto kami sa altar kung saan nakatayo na ang judge na magkakasal sa amin. Walang walking down the aisle. So the aisle with a white carpet of petals is useless. I was imagining her slowly walking down the aisle while me waiting for her at the end of it, but it didn't happen.

The wedding ceremony has begun. The judge addressed few words before went to exchange of wedding vows.

"Evo Aragon, do you take Chloe to be your partner for life. Do you promise to walk by her side forever, and to love, help, and encourage her in all she does? Do you promise to take time to talk with her, to listen to her, and to care for her? Will you share her laughter, and her tears, as her partner, lover, and best friend? Do you take her as your lawfully wedded wife for now and forevermore?"
