I made my way down to the bleachers craving that sweet release. I could practically smell it already. You know it's funny, everyone said I could just try chipping, "you can't get addicted that way" they said. I told them I would try that, but I knew from the first breath that I wouldn't be able to control myself. The rush of euphoria as the chemicals hit my brain was intoxicating. It was my Big Bang, what started it all.
~Flashback~
I woke up in a daze and turned over to my friend.
"What the hell just happened?" I muttered
Laughing softly she replied, "you my friend chased the dragon"
That's when it all came back, the party, the music, the pen shell, the chemicals, the euphoria, the heroin. The drug I said I would never do, the drug that I just did, the drug that I now do.
"I cannot get addicted to this" I cried as my mind raced. Thoughts pulsed through my head bringing with them a dizzying amount of worry.
"Mabel it's okay you can just try chipping it, limit yourself to 8 hours every 72, you won't become an addict but you'll still get to enjoy it"
"Okay" I whispered, but I knew it wouldn't be that simple.
And boy was I right.
