Shock flashed across her features at the sound of my voice penetrating the silence I had created. Flickering my slightly embarrassed gaze up to meet her shocked eyes, I saw her jaw slacken at the sound of my few words. Brydene's eyes never left my own as she sat a few feet away from me, her hand loosening its hold on the empty glass cup I had drank out of earlier. Tugging my knees closer to my chest, I started regretting ever telling her my name. Why was she so surprised by me talking? I was human after all. At my small action, she seemed to snap out of her small trance and a warming smile graced her features.

"You have a lovely name," She breathed softly, still dazed by the fact I could speak. Loosening the tight grip I had on my shins, I let out a small sigh of relief that she was still acting as she was before. Then again, what was I expecting? Her to lash out unexpectedly just by me talking? I was too on edge. This woman was harmless.

"I'll be honest, for a second there I thought you weren't able to talk," she confessed, casting her twinkling eyes at the material I sat on as she pondered her thoughts. "But I guess this is my first time too, meeting a girl who might not have made contact with anyone like herself... maybe it isn't wrong of me to think that you wouldn't know how to speak."

"I can speak fine," I whispered, slightly discomforted at her strange behaviour. Watching her nervously, her bewildered expression changed into one of confusion as she locked our eyes together.

"So... do you know how old you are?" She asked casually, tilting her head as she scrutinized my small form. My eyes widen at her question as the idea struck me that I had never really thought about it. I can't keep track of the years that fly by and only know I'm around the same age as Accalia. With a subtle shake of my head, I buried my face between my knees at my lack of knowing this simple information about myself. "If it helps, your physical appearance makes you look to be around 18. Your face is very mature looking and your body is developed very attractively as well," she complimented, making my face burn with heat from the flattery this gorgeous woman said I had.

"Where do you live?" she asked suddenly, her pale blue orbs dancing with new found curiosity. Taken aback by her unexpected question, I couldn't help but let my cautious instincts get the better of me. Silence answered her enquiry. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't prod you already... I guess you're still on edge from this whole situation. I'm not offended if you don't want to answer, I'm sure you don't feel comfortable around me yet to say so."

Yet? Did she think I was going to stay long enough to be able to be at ease around her? Like hell that was happening. This excitement from the past few days was enough to last me a lifetime. I was going back to the forest at the first opportunity I got. Then again, I didn't have a clue where I was.

An idea sprung to my mind; if I answered her questions to some degree, maybe I could befriend her enough and she could help me escape from this strange place. She didn't seem bright enough to know I would be manipulating her.

"I live in the forest," I replied vaguely, once again surprising her with a response.

She didn't hesitate to try and dig more information out of me, "How long have you been living there?" I noticed the way her body leaned forward towards me, too close for comfort as she anticipated an answer. Trying not to shy away from her pressing form, I couldn't help but question why she was being like this. Was she attempting to put on an innocent, curious façade in order to pry my personal information against me and relay it to the hunters? Hairs prickled on the back of my neck at the thought of the hunters knowing more than they needed about me. Eyeing her warily, she must have noticed my hesitation because she backed off enough so I'd have personal space.
