All her fault.

Forrest

I woke up with searing pain throughout my body. There was only one reason I could come up with for the familiar pain: the Alpha. Something was pounding in my head and I jerked fully awake at the thought.

Axel.

I shot up only to be weighed down by a sleeping form that had an arm over my stomach. I looked down and relaxed at the sight of my mate.

"Look who's awake,", I met the Alpha's wolf eyes, "you fucking bastard..."

Her whole neck was bandaged and blood stained them. When we're injured, only that form holds the injury, but by shifting to our other form we wouldn't be able to see or feel the wound which could make the wound worse due to neglect. That means with such a deep wound, the Alpha must stay in her wolf form.

I laid back down and brought Axel's sleeping body closer, inhaling his scent.

"God, you're such a creep..."

I glared Her way but she wasn't the least bit fazed. I held onto him tighter for comfort as the memories from a few hours ago came back. My eyes squinted at the thought of that guy.

"Mmm, finally remembering what ya did, huh?", Her voice returned to being husky and comforting, the kind of voice that can make you do anything.

"Not really...only that guys face. It's burned into my memory."

I felt her intense stare, what she does when she was looking for something.

"How does it feel, Forrest?", her voice all of the sudden became low and sly, "He's so close to you. That small, petite body of his sleeping ever so soundly on your bare chest. So beautiful, so delicious....so...vulnerable....", how She said that sent shivers down my spine. At that moment, She spoke like a true predator. At my reaction She gave a true, wolf-ish smile, a taunting one. The air got terribly heavy.

I couldn't speak, I was at a lost for words, because She was right. That was how I saw Axel and it scared me. She was scaring me.

"You can't hold in that desire forever, Forrest. You'll end up forcing him, hurting him, scaring hi-."

"Stop it!!", I snapped, "Why are you saying that? What could you possibl-"

I stopped at the sudden realization. She was here when I woke up, she must've been watching us the whole time. Watching mates sleeping together for that long...She misses her mate.

I saw her in a different light then. I saw the true size of her wolf. If She snaps because of Her jealousy...

"Stop it..."

Her muscles and eyes alone, could force anyone into submission.

"I'm just saying the truth, Forrest. It must be painful to be that sexually frustrated and for that long too! Just look at him, Forrest, you deserve it. You've waited so long!! You're not being selfish..."

My fear for the dangerous Alpha grew. She wants me to destroy our relationship, just like.....

"Look at him, Forrest, look at him."

It took everything in me to not be swayed by her words. I refused to look at Axel. I knew this was going to hurt Her, but if I let Her continue it'll only get worst. I don't have a choice, She's not Herself.

"Look at him!"

I held Axel tighter to me, "No,", the Alpha narrowed her eyes, "No, I won't let you get in between me and my mate just because you lost Violet."

Her eyes widened in shock. She yelped a short, high-pitched, and pitiful yelp. Her breathing hitched and her eyes widened in fear. Another yelp.

"Violet...Violet...", She began hyperventilating. I watched her in pity. The Beta came in and immediately rushed by her side trying to calm the enormous Alpha.

"Violet!! Violet I'm sorry!!! I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorryimsorryimsorry....!!!"

"Lavender, it's alright. She's here. Violet is here.", the Beta whispered repeatedly.

The room seemed silent with only the echoes of her voice. Her mind was surely back in the past, reliving those very moments in which She lost her mate. Everyone missed Violet, even other packs. Violet was strongest in mind. She made the pack better in every way. Everyone missed her. Everyone wanted her back. But nowhere near to how much Lavender did.

"Violet!!", her eyes turned dangerous as the scene in her head moved on to revenge, "I'll kill them! I'LL KILL THEM ALL!!", she looked at something only she could see.

"Lavender! Lavender!! Ugh...", the Beta knew what he had to do, it was the only way when she was too far, but it was strictly against Her orders.

He whistled a high tune for a long second before lowering it into a melody: Lavender and Violet's melody.

The Alpha held her breath for a second as she listened to the tune, then slowly began breathing calmer each time. She fainted shortly afterwards, since she took in too much oxygen. There, Her heavy head laid on the beta's human lap. The Beta kept whistling the tune until it's end.

"I told her it wouldn't be a good idea, but She's just too stubborn."

I stayed silent.

"She doesn't even like seeing mates together! So this once, I wonder...", he sighed in defeat and exhaustion, "Maybe this is good? Maybe she'll learn to- no, you can't move on after a mate's death...it's all because of what Violet said that kept the Alpha alive to this day, kept everyone alive...it's all her-..."

I continued to stayed silent. He isn't talking to anybody but himself. He bowed his head as he petted the Alpha's fur in a soothing way. Axel stirred in my arms, making the beta look up and reveal his tear stained face.

"...I'll move the Alpha in her room."

I watched him force the Alpha back into Her human form, and carry Her bridal style out the door. I looked down at my beloved Axel. I grinned at the sight of him.

Just look at him, Forrest, you deserve it. You've waited so long!! You're not being selfish...Look at him!!

I snapped out of it. I sighed and buried my face at the crook of his neck. Calm down calm down calm down...inhaling his scent did just that but also made something in me churn, like a beast waking from decades of slumber.

I don't want to lose him.
