Chapter 4

*Alex POV* +The decision+

I sat keagan's front porch, I had asked Cameron to drop me of there. We had left the hospital minutes after Keagan and Jordan. I sat and just stared at the poster I had in my hands. Did I really wanna do this? Did I really wanna leave Cameron and become a marine? I did, I just wasn't a hundred percent sure. I needed to talk to Keagan. I was pulled away from my thoughts when I heard a car drive in the driveway. I looked up to see Keagan getting out of his black dodge ram. He looked at me confused, and began to walk towards me. "Keagan, I need to talk to you about the marines..." I breathed. He sat down beside me and I began to explain. "You see I wanna be in the Marines, but I'm kinda second guessing it, I mean I don't know if I'm ready to leave Cameron and fight for my life, I don't wanna die on her and never be able to hold her in my arms again, but on the other hand I really wanna go and fight for my country!" I explained frustrated. Keagan looked and me and nodded.

"Dude, you don't have to go, I mean I want you too but it's not like asking you to go to camp with me for a couple weeks, I'm asking you to risk your life, I mean I completely understand if you don't want to go.... Don't force yourself to do anything you don't wanna, especially in the case that there is a chance you.... Ya know uh-"

"Die" I said in a bitter tone, he nodded unsurely. "Well I wish I thought about this earlier because I only have like 2 weeks to decide until we leave to boot camp" he looked at me with a frown on his face. I was so frustrated and lost I didn't know what to say or do. I was so scared to go to the marines, and keagan made me feel like a loser. He was ready for this, he had been training for years to do this. I had been procrastinating for years, but now boot camp is 2 weeks away grad is 1 week I mean what the hell was I gunna do? I thought for another second and I had a answer to my problem. "Keagan? I'm gunna go to the marines with you, I need to, I need to do this for myself. And I know this is off topic but how are you gunna ask Jordan to prom?" Keagan chuckled and replied

"Uh, I'm gunna propose to her, I mean I want her to be mine mine, before I leave. I wanna have something to fight for. I want her. But I'll ask her to prom over dinner or something" keagan blushed a little. I looked at him with my jaw wide open,

"Your gunna PROPOSE to her?!" I questioned, he nodded. "Woah! I don't think I wanna propose to Cameron just yet after boot camp I'm gunna" I said, "you get her ring yet?" He nodded

"Yeah wanna see it? It's in my room"

"Yeah I do! How did you muster the money up?" I questioned, you see keagan's family didn't have money like mine and Jordan's, Cameron was average but keagan was on the poor side. His mom and dad were divorced and both really messed up.

"Well, from college savings I had, but now I ain't gunna go to college. I decided i wanted to marry Jordan so i bought her a ring" he replied calmly. i looked at him and laughed. we began to walk into keagans house. when we got inside the smell of alchohol and cigeretts filled my nose, but it wasnt like i wasn't used to it. Me and Keagan were bestfriends we hung out all the time. i mean i understand why he wants to be a marine. He wants to get out of this hell hole. As soon as we passed the living room his mother looked at us and smiled hastly then took a long swig of the Jack Daniels bottle in her hand. Keagan just ignored her and continued up the stairs to his room, I followed. once we got to his room i flung myself on his bed. He looked at me and said "You seem quite fine, considering you just got outta the hospital Alex"  i laughed at him and smiled.

"Hell yeah BOYY" i yelled, "So show me the girls ring" i insisted. Keagan walked over to his closet and opened a small safe that blended into the wall. He pulled out a small black box and walked over to me opening it, "Dayum Boy, how much did that cost?!" i asked shocked. It was an pretty ring and had a  big rock on it.

"Why does it matter, but if you wanna know that bad it cost half of my savings" Keagan replied looking at it. "I got it custom made, i wanted it to be special, for her, i want her to know how much i care for her and love her" i was just about to say something when my phone beeped, indicating i got a text message. I  pulled my phone out of my backpack, it was a meassage from cameron.

HEY babe :* Jordan and me are going out for a bit either u and Keagan come or stay home, it's up 2 u guys!! - Cam

Uhh... i would love to come but i need 2 talk 2 keagan and see what he wants 2 do..... -Alex

Kk, hurry up tho and ask him now please!! -____- ~ Cam

"Hey Keagan, Cam and Jordan are going out, they invited us wanna go?" i ask, Keagan looks at me then back at the ring and puts it back in the closet safe.

"Yeah i guess but i need to text Jordan first we sorta got into a little fight and i feel really bad" He explains, i nod and lay back down.

*Keagan POV*

Hey Jordan....... I am sorry about earlier today i just lost it, i mean i guess it was because i didnt want anyone touching me and i was mad already at Alex and i had to blow off steam, and i was thinking that i couldn't protect yo when i was in the Marines and i'm just scared to loose you, i'm sorry I love you Jordan :( ~ Keagan

10 minutes later

It's not okay what you did Keagan but i do forgive you, i know you are going through a really stressful time and i love you and you will never ever loose me :) your stuck with me forever and always!! <333 :* ~Jor

O ik and im srry Jordan, I love you way to much to loose you over this stupid fight! i mean it was my fault and you had to clean up the mess that i left...... so i heard Alex and i were invited 2 go out with you and Cameron tonight? ~ Keagan

Yes, you guys were invited, We are going somewhere you guys may not be fans of but its a surprise okay? ~ Jor

"sounds good LEZ go" Alex laughed at his own pathetic joke but i laughed along and we drove to Jordans.
