  I'm pretty sure that the day James Sirius Potter was born McGonnagall marked on her calendar the day the child would turn eleven and that is the day she retired. Because no way is she teaching a child named James Sirius Potter who grew up with stories of the Marauders, Fred and George,  his father, mother, and all their friends. A child with a magic map, an invisibility cloak, and probably no sense of personal danger.
