"You're late, and you've yet to bow to the new King of the Diamond Kingdom", my voice echoed off the empty, dull walls of the throne room.

"Apologies, but I'm sure all will be forgiven when you see what I have for you Ivor", Ash Thindrel approached the dais, Theodore eyeing the outline of a dagger pressed against her thigh.

Silver and emerald danced in the weak light peeking through the almost-closed curtains, as if Ellie, the Goddess of Warmth and Light was trying to force herself into the ever-darkening Kingdom. The silver necklace slithered into my outstretched palm, curling away from me.

"I'd say you were right".
