Part 40

A few years later. The twins are 21, Isla is 18.
They have both been starting Arsenal games for years. Keeping us at the top of the league every year. Isla is in the first team for the Arsenal women's squad.
Our kids are shining on world stages. The twins have been away at the World Cup, Leah has retired and we are now just following our kids around.
The boys are both on multimillion pound contracts and are allowing them to support us and their sister.
Noah and Amelia are still together, 6 years going strong, Lucas has been with his girlfriend, Paige for around 3 years now.
It's family weekend. All the kids have the weekend off. Once in a blue moon, we have all of our kids under the same roof.
Noah: "mum we are here!"
I come downstairs and hug them both.
Normally we see the twins together since they are on the same team. But Isla is normally away at one game or another.
Noah: "Isla not here yet?"
Y/n: "not yet."
Lucas: "she bringing Maddie?"
Y/n: "I think so"
Noah: "meeting the girlfriend for the first time, nervous?"
Y/n: "no but mama is"
Lucas: "where is mama?"
Noah: "let me guess? Playing football?"
Y/n: "you'd be correct."
All of us head outside and Leah spots the boys.
Leah: "hey kids"
Noah: "you do realise we aren't kids?"
Leah: "yes but you'll always be my kids"
The twins hug Leah before we hear the front door go.
Isla: "Mum? Mama?"
Noah: "OUTSIDE"
Isla comes outside with a blonde girl behind her.
Isla: "this is Maddie everyone"
Noah: "pleasure to finally meet you Maddie, I'm Noah, this is Lucas"
Lucas: "nice to meet you"
Noah: "mother Leah, and mother y/n"
Maddie: "nice to meet you all finally"
Isla: "Noah stop being a div"
Noah: "what I'm not"
Leah: "you are being a div, come on let's go inside"
Isla: "the girls not here?"
Noah: "no they are at some spa day, said they will join later though if that's alright with everyone?"
Y/n: "of course it is"

Lucas puts Noah in a headlock and drags him inside.
Leah: "will you two stop it?"
Noah: "ermmmm, no"
Leah rolls her eyes at them.
We are all sat in the living room, chatting away, Maddie is actually quite funny. Noah and Lucas keep winding Isla up. That's until the girls arrive a bit later.

Noah: "Amelia, Maddie, Maddie, Amelia"
Amelia: "nice to finally meet you, Isla never shuts up about you"
Isla: "is it embarrass Isla day or something?
Amelia: "they did it with Noah when you all met me for the first time, don't worry, it wears off."
Lucas: "Maddie this is Paige"
Paige: "lovely to meet you.
Maddie: "nice to meet you all too."

We all have dinner together. We are all chatting and laughing just like old times.
Leah: "plans for this year kids?"
Noah: "win the quad"
Lucas: "yeahhhhh baby"
They high five from across the table.
Y/n: "Isla?"
Isla: "break my way into the first team properly. Didn't play that much with them last season, this will be my year."
Leah: "good plan"
Noah: "so Maddie, what team do you support"
I notice Isla grit her teeth.
Maddie: "erm spurs"
The twins look at eachother then look at Maddie.
Noah: "spurs?"
Lucas: "like spurs spurs?"
Maddie: "yeah, I grew up watching them. My parents are big fans"
The twins look at eachother again. I notice Paige and Amelia look at eachother because they don't know what to say.
Y/n: "that's lovely Maddie, isn't it boys, Leah?"
Leah is gritting her teeth.
Noah: "er yeah"
Lucas: "yeah great"
Leah: "mhm"
I try and move the conversation on.
Y/n: "so what do you do for work Maddie?"
Maddie: "I'm an accountant"
Noah: "oh here we go"
Leah: "I trained to be an accountant"
Lucas: "there it issss"
The rest of the meal goes well. The twins try not to mention football. Maddie and Isla leave early because Isla has a game tomorrow.

Noah: "fucking spurs?!"
Y/n: "boys!"
Lucas: "no no I can't believe I thought she was funny! SPURS?!"
Amelia: "you boys are unbelievable."
Noah: "how can Isla even look at her? What the hell."
Lucas: "it's alright bro, we are against them next week, we will just kick their arses"
Noah: "too right"
Paige: "unbelievable"

It gets late and kids all leave. We say bye to them all.

Y/n: "and it's peaceful again"
Leah: "I miss them living here"
Y/n: "I don't, my house is finally clean all the time"
Leah laughs at me.
Leah: "we did it babe, our family has flown the nest."
Y/n: "what's next?"
Leah: "who knows. Movie time?"
Y/n: "as long as you're with me, I don't care what we do."
Leah: "go lay down, I'll get us some snacks"
I lay down on the sofa. Leah joins me a few minutes later.
Leah: "I love you y/n Williamson"
Y/n: "I love you more."
Leah: "thank you for the most amazing life"
