A/N: I apologize for (1) the long wait, (2) any typos and errors you may come across because it is 4:32 in the morning, and (3) for the last quarter of this chapter. Like, you might hate me for the last bit to be honest. The next chapter will be a continuation though, if that  makes anything better... Also, I'll be gone for the week, so I won't be able to work on anything. I will however be using the app on my phone to respond to see comments, etc. Sooooo, on with the chapter!

"You're here again," Kimi said to the man entering her apartment. Sasuke's glance and nod in her direction was the only indication that he'd heard her. Instead, the he headed straight towards Ranmaru, taking a seat on the couch so he saw in front of the child, whom was playing with a few toys on the carpet. He pulled out his smartphone, tapping away at the screen. She watched with a small smile at how excited Ranmaru got when he took notice of the Uchiha sitting across from him.

"Sake!" the boy called out excitedly.

For the past week, the Uchiha had dropped by a few nights after work to check on her, like he'd done the first time after the incident at the club. Sometimes it would be just a quick visit, and other times it would be longer as Kimi forced him to eat something knowing he had come straight from work.

"Are you hungry?" Kimi asked, making her way over to him.

"No," he answered.

Kimi took a seat on the floor next to Ranmaru, watching as he played with a stack of building blocks. "Are you sure? This is probably the last time I'll be able to offer you a meal."

"What do you mean?"

"I go back to work tomorrow night," she answered.

The Uchiha eyes shot up from his phone, boring right into hers. "You're still going back?"

"Well, what did you expect me to do? I have to make money for me and Ranmaru."

"I know that," Sasuke stated with a bit of annoyance. "But why would you go back there after everything that happened?" He was floored and part of him was disappointed in her deciding to go back. He couldn't understand why she'd return to working at the club where she was assaulted.

"Where else can I go?"

"You can find something else," he retorted.

"What?" Kimi asked, expectantly.

He shrugged, looking off to the side. "There are other things you can do."

"Like what, Sasuke?" Kimi stood up and faced him. "I'm not skilled, I barely finished a year of college, what would I even do in this city that could pay better than where I'm at now?" When the Uchiha remained silent, Kimi let out a cynical sounding laugh. "You can't even think of anything can you?"

"Listen," Sasuke started, also standing up to his full height. "I can find you something. Just don't go back there."

"Why does it even matter?"

Sasuke fought the urge to roll his eyes. She was doing it again: being stubborn. She was almost as, if not more, stubborn than Naruto could be. He was beginning to lose his patience. He already had a long day at work, with an aggravating meeting and less than incompetent coworkers. Dealing with a stubborn woman was the last thing he wanted to do at the end of his day. If he knew things would turn out like this, he wouldn't have come.

"Are we really doing this again, Kimi?"

"Doing what, Sasuke? I just asked a simple question." She folded her arms across her chest as she repeated, "What does it even matter? Why do you care?" She seemed to ask him that question every time. Why do you care? He knew why he cared. "Do you even really care, Sasuke?" Of course he cared. Why else would he be in her living room right now?
