Chapter 13

Katie's POV

I wake up and go straight for a shower hoping the hot water will ease my tense muscles. My shower helped... a little. I decide to put on a skirt that lands just above the knee and a crop top that says 'angel' on the front, I tie my hair in a messy bun on the top of my head and look at myself in the floor length mirror. On the outside I look normal like any other day except it's not any other day today's the day I see my mum for the first time in nearly 9 years. I get to the dining room and L jumps out her seat and squeezes me half to death "I'm so so sorry weirdo, I didn't know I promise I didn't know" I push her back gently giving her a confused look before it clicked "I know for a fact you would've told me if you knew L it's okay I'm ready for her" I say I just hope it's true.

I'm with Eli in his office reading a book and he's doing paper work, the doorbell rings through the house I tense immediately and stand up. Felix looks through the hole in the door laughing "someone's at the door for you Luna" I roll my eyes and head for the door "you've got a swing on you kid" Felix states I just smile and look at Eli who's now stood behind me I grab his hand and head for the front door. I don't recognise her when I first open the door she's there prim and proper with what looks like a young girl but I can see the resemblance she's my sister. Carol looks me up and down before speaking "hello I'm here for a meeting with Mr Eli Whitlock" her voice sickly sweet she doesn't even realise it's me her own daughter. "Hello, I am alpha Eli would you follow me please" his tone business like as we enter the living room and we take a seat she looks at me again before piping up "shouldn't the help be outside" Carol drawls, that's it! "I am not the help Carol, you will speak to me with respect" I growl as my voice raises and she gasps before looking at me again realisation all over her face not before she regains composure "Katherine" she nods to me "my name is Katie" I say through gritted teeth. "Well then maybe you should call me mum then" she spits and I stand up "you lost that title long ago woman" the young girl looks between me and mother before she stands up and comes towards me she must only be about ten or eleven she wraps her tiny arms around my waist I hug her back her head is up to my chest and she looks up at me "I'm T-Tyler but you can call me Ty" she says quietly I take a step back from her and look at Carol who's got a smirk on her face "what" is all I manage to say. After all this time not only has she another daughter but she's named her after my dead brother I can't help myself I stride towards Carol sat on the couch she looks up at me that smirk still plastered on her face when I grip her by the throat Eli is just sitting there.

She swats at my hand her eyes are begging me to let go, her feet are off the floor one of her shoes have fell off and I'm ready to just drain the life out of her here and now. I release her and she drops to the floor coughing "what are you" she wheezes "I am Katie harper the Luna of this pack and when you speak to me you'll show me respect I don't care who you are" I spit "come Mia Amata" Eli says and I take my place beside him. She looks between us Ty is still stood there when I give her a smile she smiles back and comes to take a seat next to me I smirk at Carol who just looks shocked.
I did not know how today was going to go but I sure wasn't expecting to have a younger sister and for my mother to be sober, I  guess I just wasn't enough I think and Reyna growls inside my head "she doesn't deserve us" "I know red I know" I sigh. Eli carries on the 'meeting' asking to take some of her blood and about our lineage, turns out my grandad on my mother's side who passed before I was born was an alpha. I can feel my mother's eyes staring daggers at me while I look at anything other than her she never transitioned, her wolf laid dormant no wonder why it took me so long to transition.

I'm sat in Eli's office again book in hand but none of the words are sinking in I must have read the same page about ten times. I hear a soft knock on the door I can see Ty's brown hair through the hole I made "come in" I say as I close the book and set it down she opens the door and pads in when she looks at me she looks nervous "L-Luna Katie I'm bored and mum is sleeping" she mumbles guess some things never change. I did the math either this girl is my full blooded sister or my mum had an affair I'm not sure what's worse that she had an affair when her relationship with my dad was breaking down or she got pregnant and still left us I dread to find out. I sigh tapping the spot next to me for Ty she sits "Tyler you can call me Katie and what would you like to do?" I tell her she looks at me and nods her head a few times "please can we talk, I want to know my big sister" her brown eyes bore into mine I have no grudge against this girl I just hope I can give her the answers she seeks.

I take her to sit on a bench in the garden a much calmer atmosphere and the sun is shining it's a win. A million questions fill my mind but I do not know where to start most of my questions aren't for Tyler anyway but I don't know if I'd be able to have a civil conversation with Carol. While I was mulling over what to ask Ty broke the silence "mum says I might be a wolf like you" I gasp does that mean? "Ty you don't have to answer me but who is your father?" She looks at me then back down at her feet "well m-mum says he's a wolf called Ashton he's a gamma" so I was right she got pregnant and still left us,left me. I clasp my little sisters hand giving her a squeeze "come on little one I have someone you need to meet" she gives me a toothy grin "who who" she almost squeals and I laugh "just come".
