There's actually a huge chunk of history that really needs to be explained in this story... I'm not dead yet, I'm still working on the next chapter I swear.
Anyway, here's some of ASEAN's history with his "kids".
CONTEXT: ASEAN was a royal advisor/military general for the queen of Asia, a warrior. One day, he was given a simple task; to kill a child from Southeast Asia. The child was the heir to the next throne in his kingdom. Sadly, the kingdom was destroyed due to the queen ordering an attack on the kingdom, ASEAN and his army destroyed EVERYTHING. Except the child. When he was presented with the task, ASEAN couldn't bring himself to end an innocent life...
Yes, the queen is a manipulative maniac... Fortunately, for the child, ASEAN somehow managed to convince her to let him keep the child instead.

During this event, it was also when ASEAN and 2 other royal advisers teamed up together to rise against the corruption. Of course, the other 2 advisers insisted on that ASEAN should give the child away to some other family. For the child's safety at least... (ASEAN ignored them-)
