She made Her way towards the temple, with the basket of flowers in Her hand.

The other members of the Royal Family were eagerly waiting for Her arrival.

She gave the basket to the head priest, who took the flowers and placed them at the Lotus Feet of the Goddess.

A huge garland of flowers hung around the neck of the Goddess. Prayers and chants were recited.

Everyone started the ritual worship. A plate beautifully decorated with incense, lamps and vermillion powder was circumambulated around the Goddess.

They took the plate turn by turn, and made three rounds. Finally, it was Sita's turn.

Mother, if I have been truthful in My devotion to You, faithful in My love, and sincere in My intention, please show Me a sign. Please may the Man of My dreams, the One who truly owns My heart, win the Swayamvar tomorrow and marry Me.

She looked at the idol of the Goddess with earnest eyes, Her devotion overflowing through as tears rolled down Her cheeks.

I place the flowers,
In Front of Maa Gauri,
I close my eyes and join my hands,
With sincere devotion and utmost love.

"Glory to you, Mother!
Princess of the Mountains,
Daughter of the Himalayas,
Beloved of Lord Shankara."

"Glories to you, Maa Gauri,
Mother of Lord Ganesha,
And Lord Kartikeya,
Mother of the entire Universe."

"Your power, as strong as thunder,
Your love, as soft as silk,
You've no beginning and no end,
For you're the creator and the creation."

"You preserve, destroy and create,
I fall short of words to sing in your praises,
You're self sufficient, self knowledgeable, You're the Vedas themselves."

"The whole world sings in devotion,
You're the one who did extreme penance,
To marry your love, Lord Shiva,
Who can know love better than you, Mother?"

"You bestow boons and blessings,
To all your children,
You protect your devotees,
And keep them in your tender love and affection."

"In your service, Mother,
I graciously offer these flowers,
You know the deepest desires of every heart,
For you reside in each one's soul."

"Mother, please grant me your blessings,
You know my wish already,
Saying so out loud, will only make it obvious,
But you know very well whom I love."
