• Chapter three

Gabrielle's pov

Today I had only few meetings. So I decided to go home early. I want to spend as much time as I can with my family as I am shifting in a penthouse alone very soon.

I came home but I was not welcome
with a warm hug instead it was dead silence. When I asked one of the staff member they told me that dad and Stella have gone for a engagement party. So it was actually a fail to come back home early today.
I told all the staff to take a leave early today. Before 5:30 they can go home. So they did as I said.

I then went to my room and did some work.

After 40 minutes I heard. Someone pressing the door bell again and again. I went to open the door.
When I opened the door Anika was looking somewhere else. As she didn't notice me standing there, she bumped into me. She looked tensed for some reason

"I am so sorry. I didn't mean to.."-I cut her off by saying-"its okay, come sit inside have some water" she looked down to the ground and nodded. I went and sat on the couch and I gave her water.

"Can you please call Stella. I have to talk to her"-she said while keeping the empty glass on the table
"Stella is actually not at home and she wont be coming till tomorrow evening"-I said
She sighed in disappointment-"okay fine I'll come tomorrow then"-saying that she stood up from the couch and started walking towards the door-"wait are you okay?-she turned around. I continued-"you look tensed for some reason? Do you need any help?"-she shook her head and started moving.
I went with her all the way to the main door. Where I saw a black car at a distance. Anika was feeling uneasy. So I asked her-"Is it okay if I drop you home" she stayed silent for a second then nodded-"okay then wait here, I will bring my car"- I said to her to which she nodded

The car ride was silent. She was looking out of the window all this time. I wonder why she is so silent everytime she is around, she never stops talking. Although I did not have a proper conversation with her ever. But then also she is never this silent.

"Here we are Anika"-I said looking at her direction
"Thank yous o much"-she said while smiling. To which I nodded
She went inside her building. I left for my house. That smile was something for sure.

Anika's pov

Gabrielle dropped me off to my place. That's nothing I was scared or stuff or maybe I was.

Oh com'on Anika you were scared. Stop pretending.

Now my mind is also irritating me. Not your day Anika.
Thinking this I went to my room watched a movie, did my night routine and tried to sleep
(Key word~ tried)
All this time I was thinking about gabrielle. How did he know I wanted someone to drop me off ? How did he know I was tensed ?
"He must be a good observer that's sit Anika dont think much."-i said to myself.
Saying this i slept with my face in the pillow.

Morning

Today I woke up very early because as said I was not able to fall asleep last night. I barely got 2 hours sleep.
Currently I am on my way to Stella's house to get my car from there.

I reached her house asked the watchmen for my car keeps but he said it is with gabrielle and he is not at home. He is in the office. Ohh god I actually have to go there.

Wait I will complete my work then in the evening i can go to his office. I dont have much work to do today. That's a good idea .

~Time skip ~

Its 5:30 in the evening I just had 2 meetings today and some emails to check that's sit.

I went down and settled in the cab.

Gabrielle's office

"Excuse me, can you please tell on which floor is mr. Gabrielle's office"-I asked the receptionist
"Mam it's on the 24 floor"-she said
"Okay thank you so much"-I started walking to wards the elevator. When the receptionist said again
"Mam you will have to take the private lift for the 24th floor"-I nodded

The doors of the lift opened. This whole floor is screaming luxury.
Black and grey lobby with some abstract painting. There are only 3 cabins. I started moving towards gabrielle's cabins when a girl stopped me. "Mam are you Anika Rathore?"-she asked excitingly.
I nodded
"Ohh mam you are my inspiration. One day I want to be like you."- she said
"Thank you so much"-i said with a smile

"What is happening here"-we both heard a cold voice. I turned my head and gabrielle was standing there
"Anika please come in and you go and complete the file. Remember you have to submit it after 2 hours"he said and looked at me again
I went inside his cabin and no doubt it is beautiful.
"What brings you here?"- I snapped out of my thoughts. He is now sitting .
"Ohh actually I was here for taking my car keys"-i said looking at him
