• Chapter two

Gabrielle's pov

I was welcomed with a warm hug from my baby sister. I smiled and kissed her forehead. When I saw Anika sitting on the couch i smirked a little

I went and sat in front of her
She was looking absolutely gorgeous
Beige bodycon dress complimenting her curves with white blazer, hair in half bun, those dark brown eyes. Indeed she is beautiful. But that doesn't mean I am not mocking her for what happened today. When she lost that project she was so upset. I know she worked hard to get it.

"So what brings you here miss anika ?" -okay I sound like a evil here

"Can't I come here to meet my bestfriend mister gabrilelle ?"-she asked glaring at me. Okay okay nice come back not gonna lie. I am being distracted by those brown orbs. Focus gab

"I thought you will not come today because you didn't get that project. I thought you were stressed"-I said and she ignored me. I was thinking of a nice comeback but that's fine

~Time skip~

We were on the dinning table having dinner. And here Anika was laughing, giggling which ofcourse made her look more beautiful. All this time I wasn't able to get my eyes off her.

I know she is feeling anxious by my gaze. I like my effect on her though.

Soon she left for her house. It was late in the night so i asked one of my bodyguards to drive behind her car and assure that she is safe.

Gabrielle's office

Morning

I came inside my cabin and called my secretary Anna. She is working for me since 2 years and she does her work nicely

"Today's schedule? "-I asked while looking at my phone

"Sir you have a meeting at 10:30 then one more meeting at 1:30"-she said

"Okay, only this much for today ?"- I asked looking at her standing figure in front of my desk

"Yes sir and there is an invitation for a business party from that project's top investor. Which is to be held in L.A"-she said finding something on the ipad in her hand

"Ohh yeah that party is important. I have to attend it. When it is again ?"-I asked

"Next week, Tuesday sir"-she replied
"Okay, now you can go"- I said

This is that project which Anika lost.
It is related to presenting a particular type of clothing for a international company. I dont like going to parties even business parties but if i attend this party, I can meet many new people which can lead many international projects, ofcourse I should go.

Author's pov

Anika's office

"Mam there is an invitation from one of the project investors"- her manager said

"What do you think, should I attend the party?- Anika asked him while working on her laptop
"Yes mam I think you should. There would be CEOs of many different international companys which can lead to many international opportunities"-manager said

"Yeah that's a good point. When it is?"
"Tuesday, next week, mam"-he said. Anika nodded

And with that he left from there

Anika's pov

I was busy working. When my phone buzzed and showed a unknown number. I picked it up

"Hello who is it?"-I asked looking at the laptop

"You were looking really good in the beige dress yesterday, sweetheart"-the person said. I stopped my fingers which were working on the laptop

"Excuse me who it is"i asked again

"Someone who knows you very well"-he said in a husky voice

"Who the fuck are you? Just stop irritating me."-I yelled at that person

"Calm down sweetheart. You dont look good when you are angry"he said. At this point I was hella irritated I cut the call and slammed my phone one the table. And started working again.

6pm I got off my work. When I realized what I did 3 hours ago. I slammed my phone on the table and now it's broken. I need to get rid of these anger issues

I am thinking of going to Stella's house. I need to tell her this and since my phone is broken I can't call her before going.

But that's fine I will straight away go there. To be honest I am not sacred just curious which fucker had the audacity to call me a sweetheart.

If I would tell Stella she would ask gabrielle for help since he is in mafia things and stuff. So he does has a security team.

Went down, sat in the car and started driving. It's a 25 min drive from my office to her house. While I was driving a felt like someone was following me. I increased the speed and the car behind me did the same. I took unneccary turns and stopped at a particular point and car behind did all the same things.

At this point I was actually scared.
I broke the speed limit and as expected the car behind also did that

I reached her house, handed the car keys to the watchman.

When I turned around. I saw a man glaring at me, sitting in a black car.
His face covered but I could feel him smirking.

I turned around and headed straight to the main door. I pressed the bell several time. All the time I was looking behind me. When I felt the door open without moving my eyes. I took a step ahead and bumped into someone.
