Luna felt an instant connection with the new girl, Angelica. It was as if they had known each other for years.

Luna couldn't remember the last time she felt such a strong attachment to someone. She recalled her kindergarten days when she had befriended two children her age, but they never treated her kindly. They only called her when they were bored and never included her in their fun.

Despite her past experiences, Luna had grown into an outgoing girl. However, she never let anyone get too close to her as a friend. But Angelica's infectious energy and enthusiasm made Luna feel comfortable and safe.

As the lunch bell rang, Angelica grabbed Luna's hand and led her out of the classroom.

Luna couldn't help but smile as Angelica bowed down like a knight and asked her to lead the way. Luna played along and bowed like a princess, and they both giggled.

"Let's head to the cafeteria first. I bet you're hungry," Luna said with a knowing smile.

"OF COURSE, I AM!" Angelica exclaimed with excitement, latching onto Luna's hand like a protective dog with its owner.

Luna felt her heart swell with affection for this new friend. She knew that this was the start of a beautiful friendship.

After a brisk two-minute stroll, they had arrived at their destination.

Luna and Angelica sauntered into the cafeteria and settled themselves in their usual corner booth - Luna's throne, if you will.

"Make yourself comfortable while I fetch our plates," Luna said, flashing a small yet charming smile in Angelica's direction.

"O-okay, but I insist on paying my fair share!" Angelica protested, her cheeks turning a shade of crimson. It was clear that she wasn't accustomed to receiving such affection, especially from someone as stunning as Luna. With her porcelain complexion, mesmerizing blue eyes, and plump, naturally pink lips, Luna was a sight to behold. And let's not forget that adorable beauty mark next to her left eye - cuteness overload!

"Oh, don't you worry. Consider it my treat for being a bit of a troublemaker this morning," Luna replied, nonchalantly brushing off Angelica's concerns.

"B-but you're already helping me out by giving me a tour," Angelica stammered.

'Come on, girl! You can't be stuttering now. Be confident!' a voice inside Angelica's head scolded.

"I said it's no biggie. I'm doing this because I want to," Luna assured her, ready to leave the matter behind. But before she could make her escape, Angelica grabbed her wrist.

'You've got to be strong, confident. Don't let a mere mortal shake you,' the voice in Angelica's head persisted, this time with a touch of aggression.

'Yes! I am strong, I am confident,' Angelica thought, trying to psych herself up.

"Actually, I-" Angelica began, but as soon as their eyes locked, all her newfound courage went out of the window it came from.

"Umm, n-never mind. Just forget it. I-I just thought you might want a cold drink too!" Angelica blurted out, laughing nervously and scratching her head.

"Ah? Well, alright then!" Luna obliged, heading off to fetch their lunch.

'I just want to disappear, dear Goddess! What am I supposed to do?' Angelica thought, covering her eyes with her hands.

'Stupid! Can't even hold it together in front of a human and yet you want to fight for the Al-' the voice in her head taunted.

Angelica silenced her inner thoughts and took a deep breath. She would remain calm and collected, even in the presence of a mere mortal.

She sat herself down, handing Angelica her share of the cold drink she asked for, with a dramatic flourish.

"T-thanks, I am sorry if it was a problem," Angelica said, her voice dripping with faux sadness and a hint of a smile.

"Hey, don't give me that look! It's not like I had to sell my soul for this drink," Luna exclaimed, laughing awkwardly and causing a few heads to turn in their direction.

Angelica shrugged off the apology and eagerly dug into her lunch plate, her eyes lighting up at the sight of the delicious food.

'You better make sure no one ends up paying for YOUR expenses, you hear me? You're not some desperate bottom-feeder. Otherwise, I'll be too embarrassed to be your wolf,' the voice in Angelica's head whispered with a bossy tone.

Now, as you can probably guess, Angelica wasn't your average girl. Heck, she couldn't even be considered fully human because she's a werewolf. Howling at the moon and all that jazz. But she wasn't alone in her furry predicament. There were millions, if not more, of her kind out there.
She had transferred to this school due to some family drama, because let's face it, adults always have a lot on their plates. And Angelica couldn't even imagine what kind of buffet they were dealing with.

"Hey, drink up! What's got you so lost in thought that you forgot about your food?" Luna asked, waving her hands in front of Angelica's face in an exaggerated manner.

"Oh, nothing. Just reminiscing about the good old days," Angelica replied, taking a long sip from her drink and winking playfully.

Luna didn't press the matter further and happily devoured her own food, which consisted of bacon, rice-stuffed rolls, and pork cutlet. She had decided to skip dessert today, not because she didn't want it, but because her wallet was feeling a little light. Plus, she had promised to treat Angelica to lunch, and she couldn't back out now.

She couldn't help but eye Angelica's plate, which was practically overflowing with delicious desserts like pineapple pie, red velvet cake, and chocolate chips. Luna had somehow guessed that this girl had a serious sweet tooth, and she was determined to be the hero of the day by satisfying it.

Angelica practically swooned as she took another bite of her red velvet cake.
"Oh my goodness, this is better than a unicorn riding a rainbow!" she exclaimed.

Luna couldn't help but giggle at her friend's enthusiasm. "I know, right? It's the only reason I even bother coming to school," Luna joked.

The two of them sat there, happily indulging in their sweet treats and each other's company. Before they knew it, the bell rang and the day was over. Time flies when you're having cake!
