Cedric's POV
It was the weekend, and yesterday I invited Kia for a date.
I was nervous then, but Dane and Paul helped me with what I should do. They also helped me choose my clothes and we reserved a spot at a restaurant.
At 4 PM, I was already preparing everything because our date was at 6 PM and I still had to pick her up.
I had my car washed first and then went to Kia's house, but I was too early so Kia invited me in for coffee.
Kia introduced me to her parents.
"Good afternoon, auntie, uncle, I'm Cedric Reyes, courting Kia."
"Hello Cedric," Kia's mom said.
"Cedric Reyes? The best NBA player in the Philippines?" Kia's dad asked.
"Yes, that's me."
Kia's dad smiled at me.
"I brought butterscotch, auntie. I baked it myself. I'm sorry I didn't bring anything else."
"You didn't have to go through the trouble, Cedric, but thank you."
Kia prepared my coffee and we left.
We went to the restaurant that Paul recommended.
A lot of people approached me to take pictures. I knew Kia didn't like crowds so I called my bodyguards.
Kia and I sat at our table and ordered. I ordered beef stew and Kia ordered spicy Thai chicken.
Our orders arrived and we ate. After eating, we went to the mall.
"Kia, where do you want to go?"
"Hmm, Toy Kingdom? I want to heal my inner child with you."
I blushed.
We went to Toy Kingdom. First, we went to the Barbie section and played with the Barbies.
Then, we went to the remote control cars section and had a race.
Next was the Lego section, where we built a house.
"This is fun," Kia said.
I smiled.
"Do you want to buy anything? I'll pay," I offered.
"Yes, I want something. Wait, let me get it."
Kia went to the cashier and I took out my wallet.
"No Cedric, I'll pay."
I didn't know what Kia bought.
Kia paid 2,438 pesos.
"Cedric, let's watch a movie."
"Ah! Good thing I have tickets, let's watch Rewind."
We left Toy Kingdom and went to the 4th floor, straight to the cinema.
We watched the movie.
Two hours later, it was already 11 PM. Kia was crying so I hugged her.
We left and went to the parking lot.
"Cedric."
Kia stopped.
"Why, Kia?"
"Here, this is my gift for you."
"What is it?"
"That's what I bought earlier at Toy Kingdom. I hope you like it but open it later."
We got in the car and I drove Kia home.
When I got home, I went straight to my room and opened Kia's gift.
Inside was a plushie that looked like me. Suddenly, Kia sent a picture. It was also a plushie that looked like her.
I realized they were matching.
Kia says: I like you, Cedric.
