It was the day of the funerals. Natalia was doing much better now she was eating again properly. In the morning we were going to the crematorium to cremate her brother and in the afternoon we would be going to the church to bury her mother.

"Ready when you are" I said hugging Natalia from behind and squeezing her lightly

"I don't think I'll ever be ready.. But it needs to be done" She sighed

Natalia and I met her Grandparents at the car where we drove off to the crematorium. Natalia and I sat in the backseat. Every few minutes, I'd look at her to see how she was- she just sat in silence straightening her skirt. I would stroke her hand to help comfort her.

The car pulled into the crematorium carpark where we came across some unexpected visitors. A man and a women.

"Who are they?" I asked

"They're his parents.. I don't know how they would have known about this? I didn't invite anyone.." Natalia replied

"Want me to get them to leave?" I asked, squeezing her hand lightly

"No.. It's okay"

We got out and walked in towards the crematorium.

"I'm so sorry to hea-" Louise said

"The only reason I'm allowing you here is because you would be part of this baby boy's family.. I don't expect a word from you throughout the service." Natalia replied before walking inside. She held a small bunch of flowers in her hand which she placed on the coffin. She stood for a few minutes to pay her respects as did the others.

The Reverend greeted us both and apologized for her losses before beginning the service.

It was only a short but meaningful service. There were only seven of us in the building including the Reverend. We sang a few songs and prayed several times. I was never one for churches and religion but for Natalia I would do anything.

There came a time in the service where the Reverend asked if anyone would like to say a few words. Natalia stood up.

"You don't have to do this.. Not if you don't want to.." I said

"I do.. For mum.." She said quietly.

She walked up to the stand and straightened her skirt before clearing her throat.

"I don't really know what to say.. I'm not good at these things.." She started looking at the coffin

"Not long ago my mother called me whilst I was in Australia telling me all about how I was going to be a big sister.. To begin with, I wasn't sure how to react.. I mean boys are a pain sometimes" She smile slightly

"After some talking to, I was happy to be having a baby brother, it would be a whole new experience for both me and mum. I knew it would be great. I knew how excited my mother would get when she sent me photographs of baby scans and baby clothes that she had bought. Waiting for news in the hospital waiting room on whether you were both okay was killing me. I was unsure of whether I was going to be able to take care of you and show you amazing things and take you to amazing places that the world offered. What killed the most was when the nurse came out of that room and announced that I wouldn't be able to get to know you.. It's unbelieveable how small you are and how you didn't get to see any of the world" She said with tears in her eyes

"Mum never was able to name you.. But I knew that when she wanted a baby boy, she would of wanted him to be called Rowan" She smiled slightly with tears in her eyes

"I hope to see you again soon Rowan" She cried slowly walking back to her seat. My arms immediately wrapped around her stroking her back slowly

"It's going to be okay" I whispered, kissing her head lightly
