That's What Makes You Beautiful by One Direction (shut up, it's adorable)

Beating Heart by Ellie Goulding

TW: gender identity, medical talk, fertility

After twelve weeks passed without issue, they agreed to make the announcement. Everyone was thrilled for them. As more people began to find out—and as the baby started to grow—Crowley decided that to start presenting female.

"Any requests, angel?" he askedAziraphale with a smirk.

Aziraphale tore his attention away from his book. "Requests?"

"On my new look," Crowley elaborated. "I'm going to change tonight, and if I'm satisfied, I'll keep the new corporation until after the baby comes."

"Well." Aziraphale removed his reading glasses to survey his husband, who was standing beside their bed in only black silk boxers and a tank top. "Well, you're already perfect the way you are, and you don't really need to change. Pregnant male-presenting beings are more and more common these days, thank God.

"I know—and I'm glad about that—but I like presenting as female. This is a good excuse."

"If that's what makes you happy. If you want suggestions, I've always liked your hair long. You won't be changing your eyes, will you, dear?"

"Wish I could."

"Don't you dare! They're beautiful!" Aziraphale smiled in a manner more fitting a demon than an angel."Don't change your lips too much, either. I'm quite happy with them. The rest is really up to you."

"All right." Crowley turned in a dramatic circle. "Take a good long look, angel. Last time you'll see this masterpiece for a while."

"Glad to know you haven't fallen to the sin of Vanity," Aziraphale said, rolling his eyes. "Just get on with it, dear."

"Right. On with it." Crowley started to leave, then popped his head back in. "What about breasts? Any preference?"

"Not for myself, but the larger they are, the more they'll hurt later on."

"So, tiny. Got it."

Aziraphale went back to his book, but he was distracted. Pretty soon, the corporation he had known for six thousand years would be gone. Temporarily, of course; that didn't make it less jarring.

He needn't have worried. Crowley returned looking like a poster for Aer Lingus Tourism: long red curls, porcelain skin, lush hips, and a curvy waist. It was as perfect a translation from male to female as could be, especially since Crowley's familiar golden eyes still shone from the delicate face.

Aziraphale gaped for a few seconds. "Well, my dear, I'd say you nailed it."

"I'm glad you like it," Crowley said shyly. "I was worried."

"I don't think there's a single part of you that I wouldn't like. Come to bed, love," Aziraphale said, patting the mattress next to him. "I found a passage here that you might like."

"Will you read it to me?" Crowley loved it when he read to her. She loved the soft cadence of his voice, not to mention that her snake eyes made her too farsighted to read easily.

"Of course, dear."

Crowley climbed into bed and cuddled up next to her husband. Aziraphale put his arm around her; even in a different body, they fit together perfectly.
