"Lena," I whispered, my mouth near her ear as I tried to wake her up. "Wake up." We were already running late for our first training back this year. It was now 2022. It was the year of change.

"Hmm." Her arm soon wrapped around mine, and her chin rested on the top of my head. I kissed her neck softly, before pushing back.

"We have to get up."

"But it's cold," she answered, holding me tightly. We had accidentally left the balcony door open the evening earlier, and the entire apartment would be no warmer than the snow below.

I soon left her embrace, running into the dining room to close the door, and turn on the heating. I grabbed our laundry from the dryer, bringing it to our bed.

"Come back," Lena said, trapping me under the blanket and pulling me back to the bed. I squealed softly as she planted kisses up and down my cheek. "We can stay here forever."

"You're crazy." I was able to fight her off, before passing her kit and changing into my own.

"Bakker, you may want to check what nu-," Lena started to say, before I threw her stuff at her again.

"Lena Oberdorf, get dressed!" She sighed, and rolled out of bed, grabbing the clothes that had just been tossed her way.

I walked into the kitchen, getting two coffees ready for the drive over. One for her. One for me, even though she will most likely drink mine anyway. I grabbed us two bars, putting them into my bag for the car trip over.

"Banana or mango?" I called out to Lena.

"Mango," she answered, with a muffled mouth as she was brushing her teeth.

"Perfect. I like mango more anyway," I said to myself. "Are you ready?!" She came out, teeth brushed but hair certainly not. She looped it up into a top knot, and I laughed at the strands that were falling out. I quickly tucked them behind her ear, before passing her the keys.

We rushed downstairs, knowing we only had 15 minutes to get to training on time. Lena opened my car door for me, and I couldn't help but blush as she did. She ran over to the driver's side, as I passed her the coffee to drive with.

"Remind me again why I am not allowed to drive again?" I asked her, as I took a bite of the energy bar.

"Remember when you nearly ran that person over?" Lena replied, focusing on the road, but with one hand firmly on my leg, squeezing it softly.

"I didn't nearly run them over," I answered. "They popped up out of nowhere."

Before we arrived at the ground, we pulled over.

"One last kiss and then no more until tonight!" I said, firmly. She laughed, before leaning over, planting a soft but deep kiss. Her hand found itself in my curls, and as I reached over the console, my own found her back.

I felt her soft lips move to my cheek and then back to my mouth before we separated.

"I want to keep going but we are now actually late," Lena said. I looked at the time. It was already 9:30 a.m.

"Fuck."

We arrived at training before heading inside.

I hadn't seen most of the girls since the party as neither Lena nor I had left the apartment much since then. I hadn't wanted to be away from her, and yet, at the same time, I was scared of telling people.

"You alright?" Lena whispered, as we went to our cubbies. Most of the girls were distracted with their own lives, none of them noticing our late arrival.

"Yeah." Her eyes darted from mine to my lips and back to my eyes. I laughed looking away from her.

"I really wish I could kiss you right now." I looked back at her, our eyes saying more than words ever could.
