"Today has been a wonderful day, your highness," I said as the king and I were discussing the event, "It completely changed the perspective that people...."

"What do you know about my wife that I don't?" I was taken aback by Adi's sudden question.

So he did notice that the officials from east weren't present!

"The Queen did not tell me anything herself," I said carefully choosing my words as I don't want Adi to think we teamed up against him, "I investigated and found out."

"Found out what?" Adi asked.

"Your highness, this should be a conversation between you and the Queen," I answered.

"If the Queen remembers her promise of..." Adi's words were interrupted by a knock on the door.

It was the Queen!

"I came so that we can talk," she said.

I took a sign of relief.

"The Queen does remember her promise, your highness," I said and left giving the Queen a reassuring smile on my way back.

Vaishnavi

"Finally!" said Adi and looked at me waiting for me to talk.

I gave him the letter in my hand.

"What is this?" Adi asked with a slight hint of anger and frustration.

"You wanted to know about me....so I wrote everything in this letter," I said.

Adi signed and rolled his eyes.

"What problem do you have with talking to your own husband, Vaishu ?"  he asked angrily.

"Adi I...."

"I am tired of understanding you through letters," he said frustrated.

"Adi you don't understand.....the problem is...."

"I don't care," he interrupted, "Whatever the problem is, I will handle it and I want my wife to trust me that I could."

I remained silent.

"So, either hold my hand, look into my eyes and tell me the truth," he stated and paused for a brief second. "Or get out," he added throwing the letter away.

I blankly looked at Adi.

If only he knew what's going to happen to me.....

"Alright," I said despite being well aware of the consequences, "Sit down, let's talk."

Adinath

"Talk," I said looking at Vaishu.

Vaishu took a deep breath. "My sister is a prostitute," she said.

I was immediately taken aback.

What? How? Why? A lot of questions emerged in my mind.

"Not by choice," Vaishu answered before I could even ask, "My mother died giving birth to me and our drunk father left us when I was 10. There was no other way to make money."

I remained silent.

This is a lot of information to process but one question immediately came to my mind as I remembered our conversation around intimacy.

"Were you ever...." I paused not knowing how to phrase my question but Vaishu understood it anyway.

"No," she answered, "Aishwarya always made sure that I was kept away from all of this. She hated me because she thinks I killed my mother but....but somehow she also loved me enough to ensure that none of her....." Vaishu paused perhaps trying to find the appropriate word. "...None of the people who visit her gets to see me."
