We need to find Fu Changling first.

Fu Changling slept the night away and awoke feeling a lot better the following day. Tan Xin slept in a little nest he had made out of mink fur for him. Probably never having slept in such a cosy spot before, he was still snoring when Fu Changling woke up.

Fu Changling went to the nearby creek and gave himself a bath. The creek's water was so cold that it gave him a jolt when he went in, yet the coldness was excellent for relieving physical pain and had some analgesic effect. The creek nourished the nearby Skullflowers, and their roots reached the water, giving it medicinal qualities. Tan Xin slowly awoke after Fu Changling had been in the creek for some time.

He rubbed his eyes and looked at Fu Changling, who was soaking in the creek, and asked with a yawn, "Why are you up so early?"

Fu Changling leaned against the creekbank. "I can't sleep anymore. Shouldn't I be waking up?"

"Are you still roasting gophers for me today?"

Fu Changling hesitated for a while.

These gophers were caught by Tan Xin while he was out. Now that he was here at the Cliff of Ten Thousand Bones, he needed to find a way to get his hands on the Flower of Renascence. But now that he'd lost his spiritual power, he had to rely on Tan Xin, so he made a wistful expression. "Roasted gophers are good, but maybe if we could roast a spirit fox or something, it would taste better."

Upon hearing this, Tan Xin's eyes brightened up, but then he thought about it and was a bit disappointed. "I don't know what a spirit fox is."

"I know." Fu Changling looked up and cast a glance outside the cave. "Sadly, I have no spiritual power, so I'm afraid if I venture outside, I'll be dead."

As Tan Xin took in Fu Changling's words, his eyes darted around as if he were trying to come up with a solution. Fu Changling tilted his head in thrill, gave Tan Xin a sidelong glance with narrowed eyes, and lamented, "Aiyaya, if only I had a sword with spiritual power in my hand."

Tan Xin said nothing and appeared to be struggling. Fu Changling came to an abrupt silence, closed his eyes, lay back in the spring water, and started relaxing and treating his injuries.

Even though he had lost his Jindan, he wasn't entirely at the mercy of others.

He was, after all, a sword cultivator.

The most crucial thing for sword cultivators is their own sword intent. Despite not carrying the same physicality as he did at the Tribulation Transcendence level back then, his divine sense and sword intent were things that remained in his soul and wouldn't be forgotten simply because he was reborn.

If he could have a sword with its own spiritual consciousness and its own spiritual power, he might still be able to put up a fight at the Cliff of Ten Thousand Bones.

In addition to the sword, he could also draw some talismans. If Tan Xin was willing to help him and lend him some spiritual power, he could activate these talismans.

Talismans were a language in and of themselves. This special language was used by humans to communicate with Heaven and Earth and borrow their power. The more refined one's mastery of this language, the stronger the ability to communicate with Heaven and Earth, and the greater the power that can be borrowed. His talismans, of course, had no problems, and all he needed to do to activate them was infuse some spiritual power into them.

If Tan Xin was unwilling to do so, he still had the option of exploring the matter to see if he could figure out how to combine spirit stones with the talismans...
