Mia's POV

As I normally would, I had found a spot to escape to here in London for the last couple of weeks, a cozy small room covered in windows that looked out to the garden. The weather had been rainy the majority of time being here, but the rain brought peace to my racing mind just like waves did back home. I didn't mind the rain.

We had been in London since the beginning of November, Thanksgiving only a couple days away now, so the group had made the decision to head back to LA to sort some things out before the chaos of the holiday season really began. Today was the last day, I had come to love London. Although I did miss the sunshine of California, there was still so much I wanted to experience here.

"There you are..." Dustin smiled at me from the doorway, two coffees in hand before walking in and handing one to me. "You okay?"

"Mhmmm" I hummed, grasping tightly onto the warm mug. "Thank you-" I said, gesturing to the coffee.

"Mind if I join you?"

I shook my head, scooting over to make room on the small couch. "Of course not."

"Ready to get back home and celebrate Thanksgiving?" He asked, now occupying the space next to me.

Thanksgiving was our dads birthday, and the last day we saw him alive four years ago. He was one of those dads who really cared about traditions, even the silly ones like having to have the same exact breakfast as we watched the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in the pajamas we wore every year. He almost took it as serious as Christmas. When he passed, it was like Dustin felt some sort of obligation to continue doing some of what our dad cherished, trying to keep his memory alive.

The holiday just didn't feel the same once he was gone, it wasn't the same.

"I guess..." I shrugged, choosing my words lightly. "It's what dad would want, right?"

He just nodded, taking a sip of his coffee. "What if we switched it up a little bit this year?" This caught me off guard, wrinkles forming on my forehead. "More than just the two of us and Mitch."

We had drifted away from my dads side of the family after his funeral, he was the glue holding everyone together, meaning once he passed they pretty much disappeared aside from the "Happy Birthday" and "Merry Christmas" texts Dustin and I got yearly. His family never really approved of our parents relationship, telling my dad he moved too quickly and ruined his life, but that was the farthest thing from the truth. Our parents love was something out of a fairytale, at least in my eyes.

"Like a friendsgiving?" My eyes narrowed and he chuckled.

"Sure, like a friendsgiving." He turned slightly in his place. "Don't worry, your boyfriend will be invited. He is still my best friend even though I think you jumped up in the ranks."

"Shut up." I laughed lightly, shaking my head as I took another sip of the hot coffee.

Dustin cleared his throat before speaking again. "I'm really happy for you, Mi."

"I'm happy too..." I admitted, voice low. "I'm really trying to keep the negative out, but I keep wondering if I'm getting ahead of myself. Am I moving too fast?"

"First of all, there is no set timeline for life, when things should happen and when they shouldn't. You were checked out of that relationship long before you got away from it. It's been like eight months, you're allowed to live again." He was right, I only stayed because I was terrified. I only nodded, letting him continue. "I see how you light up around Harry, granted I never thought you'd be dating one of my best friends-" He chucked, "But the both of you have such an impact on each other, really bring out the good. I fully support this and I fully support you, always. Now, if he were to ever fuck up somehow....game over." I couldn't help but chuckle, thinking back to the conversation between him and Harry that neither knew I overheard on the plane ride here.
