Waiting for the day

That I will be open to the fact

We all have to pay

For these things that distract

As I was Walking on Broken Glass

I felt heartless

Walking into a new class

Hoping it will bless

For the greater

Walking the line

Making my path straighter

Trying to make it all fine

Always running blind

Losing the path

God's grace we find

Short of his wrath

We are to fear

The Holy One

Held dear

Until we are done

That final day

The final test

That we will pay

With our rest

Walking on Broken Glass

Kerosene soaked on my skin

Waiting for it to pass

But I'm back in it again
