Dai Shiyuan closed the door and called her father, but there was no answer, which made her feel even worse.

Her life goal was simple, to stay away from the female lead, but unfortunately things always went against her wishes.

Dai Shiyuan fell heavily onto the bed and let her mind wander.

Right now, she just wanted to rest for a while and not think about anything.

Not long after, the door was knocked, and Dai Shiyuan had to open her eyes.

"Xiaoyuan, your dad can't reach you on the phone, are you okay?" A worried voice came from outside the door.

Dai Shiyuan blinked and reached for her phone, only to find that it was turned off.

She immediately got up to charge her phone and saw several missed calls from her father once the screen lit up.

This instantly lifted her mood.

Dai Shiyuan smiled and dialed back with her finger. It was answered in no time.

"Xiaoyuan, what's up?" Dai's father spoke first, and his concern was evident.

Dai Shiyuan felt warm in her heart and immediately sat up straight, looking serious as she asked, "Dad, why did you give my pocket money to my sister-in-law? I'm not a child anymore, I can manage my own money."

Hearing this, Dai's father's worried expression eased, and he explained with a smile, "Children always say they're not children anymore. I'm just worried that you'll spend your money recklessly and your mom will scold me. With your sister-in-law keeping an eye on you, I feel more at ease."

Dai Shiyuan was speechless about this reason but couldn't argue back.

She couldn't tell him that she was already a self-controlled adult.

After a few seconds of hesitation, Dai Shiyuan decided to use a gentle approach and softened her tone, saying with a coquettish voice, "Dad, I won't spend money recklessly. Just give me my pocket money, okay?"

"Don't worry, your sister-in-law is of good character and won't use your money." Dai's father laughed and advised, showing no intention of changing his mind.

Dai Shiyuan furrowed her eyebrows. This was not what she was worried about at all.

After softening and persuading her father for nearly an hour, there was still no change in the pocket money situation. Dai Shiyuan hung up the phone feeling depressed.

Compared to her as a "daughter," Dai's father seemed to be more partial to the female lead.

She always feels like a child who can't make decisions, everything has to be approved by the female lead. It seems like she needs to find a reason to live on campus.

Dai Shiyuan sighed and lay on the bed, thinking about what to do next. The door was knocked again, and the gentle voice of the female lead came through, "Xiaoyuan, let's go buy groceries together. Sister-in-law will make your favorite dessert tonight."

Hearing the word "dessert," Dai Shiyuan swallowed and thought for a while before getting up and opening the door, coldly nodding her head. She still had some things to buy, so it was time to go out.

At the nearby supermarket, Dai Shiyuan watched the female lead head towards the vegetable section while she pushed a small cart to the household goods area. Since she was going to live at school, many things needed to be bought again, including bed sheets and some daily necessities. She couldn't take anything from the house for now, so as not to arouse suspicion from the female lead.

Dai Shiyuan browsed for a while and finally chose a three-piece set with a rabbit pattern. As she reached out to grab it, a hand suddenly grabbed the corner of the packaging next to her. She turned her head to see a girl wearing glasses, with a cute appearance and clear eyes, with a hint of shyness.

"You like this one, go ahead and take it," the girl said, retracting her hand, with a cute smile on her lips, looking polite and obedient.

Dai Shiyuan smiled back and shook her head gently, "You take it, I'll choose another pattern."

The girl hesitated, both wanting to be polite and really liking this pattern.

Dai Shiyuan saw the girl's dilemma and took two steps aside, picking up a strawberry pattern and saying with a smile, "I'll buy this one."

The girl's eyes widened in surprise, then she smiled and happily took the rabbit pattern, saying friendly, "My name is Zuo Jia, I'm going to be a freshman soon. Are you a freshman too?"

"I'm Dai Shiyuan." Dai Shiyuan smiled and said the name of her school.

"Wow, we're going to the same school!" Zuo Jia exclaimed happily.

She was about to say something else when a cold and stern female voice called her name from a distance.

"My sister is calling me, I have to go. I hope we can meet at school." Zuo jia waved her hand with a genuine and bright smile on her face.

Dai Shiyuan nodded with a positive expression in her eyes.

Zuo jia is a sidekick of the original owner  in the book. She is in the same class and dormitory as the original owner and is a hardworking student.

She has a somewhat weak and timid personality and is always ordered around by the original owner. Her few appearances in the book only serve to showcase the original owner's domineering personality, making her a transparent character.

However, as a kind and hardworking girl, she would not bully others.

Dai Shiyuan smiled lightly, becoming more determined to live in the dormitory.

Living with a white rabbit is much better than living with the female lead.
