"Good morning my people!" Blake said, ruffling my hair. I slapped his hand away, laughing.
"It's lunch." Eli chuckled, wrapping his arms around my waist, and resting his chin on my shoulder. Everyone was sitting on the steps while I was in Eli's lap.
"Well, if it isn't the fiance's?"
"Yup. And loving the first day of it." Eli said. I smiled, and twined my fingers with Eli's and rested our hands on my lap.
"Hey, Jane." Tyler said, sitting next to Eli and I.
"Hey, Ty." I leaned my head back on my fiance's shoulder.
"Anything new?"
I smiled and held up my left hand.
"Yo-you're getting married?!" Tyler gasped.
"Yup."
"When." He stared at my ring.
"Not for a while."
"Sadly." Eli added, kissing my neck.
"Just be happy we are getting married."
"Only reason why I'm barely complaining."
"Why get engaged when you aren't tieing the not for a while?" Tyler asked.
"Making sure no one goes after her. She's mine." Eli whispered the last part in my ear, making me shiver with desire. He chuckled, then kissed me.
"Jane?"
I pulled away from Eli and looked at my best friend.
"Can I talk to you for a minute?"
I sighed, then got off Eli's lap.
Tyler grabbed my arm and pulled away from the group, out of hearing distance.
"Jane I love you. I hope you know that."
"What am I supposed to do about that Tyler?! I love Eli!"
"I can't be friends with you anymore, Jane..."
My heart stopped. "No." I whispered.
"I'm sorry..." His eyes full of hurt.
"I can't choose, Tyler! I can't!" I yelled.
"Why not?! It's between your best friend or your boyfriend! Just choose!" He yelled back.
"Jane!" I heard Mark's voice call from behind Tyler.
"Shit." I whispered.
Mark was coming down the steps.
"Get behind me." Tyler ordered.
I got behind him just as Mark walked up.
"Hey, Tyler. Can I talk to the pretty lady behind you?" Mark asked.
"She doesn't want to see you man."
"Can I talk to Jane, please." His voice was on edge.
"No."
