You sat on the chair that was place in front of your television set. You thought tonight that you would be happy, excited and even over the moon. But instead, you felt sad and a bit a bit lonely.
You watched as your husband John, sang till his voice practically gave up. You missed him so much that you couldn't bare to see him in TV in another country. It was hard, not having him close to you every night.
You watched until the show was finally done, when you turned off the tv it was dark. You thought it'd be best to go to bed but instead you wanted to just sit. Wondering how you'll manager without him, as the phone rang.
You walked over glumly, yet picked it up with a cheerful voice.
"Hello?" You answered
"Hey doll, how are you?" On the other line was John, your sweet, loving John
"Better" You smiled to yourself
"Better is a lot better then worse" John said
"I suppose" you chuckled softly
"What the weather like?" He asked
"The usual" You sighed
"Can I guess?" He questioned
"Go for it" you shrugged
"It's raining, and it's coming down pretty hard" John assumed
"Bingo" You smiled
"By the way, I think it's probably gonna clear up any minute now" John said
"I doubt it" You sighed
"Sure it is, just look out the window" John laughed
Letting out a tiny grumble, you walked over to the window. Drawing back the curtains you say nothing but rain and someone inside a telephone booth
"Looked pretty bad" You sighed, twirling the phone chord
"What about the man in the telephone booth?" John asked
"How did you-" you stopped mid sentence and looked out the window again
"John?" John had hung up the phone, you looked out the window again and the person in the booth was now headed over, could it be?
You opened the door, and walking up the side walk was John? Wait..it was John? Regardless you only had one thing in your mind, running up to hug him tightly. And that's just what you did.
"I've missed you" John said, smiling against your neck
"I've missed you too, but how did you-"
"I got a plane back last night"
"But I just saw you on tv" You chuckled
"That was filmed a few days ago, they're just showing now" John smiled
"Oh John" You smiled hugging him tightly
"Now, let get out of the rain before we both get sick" John kissed your lips again and you both walked into the house.
That night, you slept wonderfully with your loving John next to you.
