POV: *Emelia*

-

I haven't seen Mikey or any of the boys in a week or so. But I have been texting Luke. He makes me happy, happier than I am texting Mikey.

-

Luke: Have you heard from Michael?

Me: No, why?

Luke: The other day, he left with a few bags. We thought he was just going to visit his mum. But he didn't come back. And his mum hasn't seen or heard from him either.

Me: Oh, I haven't heard from him. I'm sorry.

-

That made me worry though.

Mikey has been a sad lately.

My fault. Of course.

I call Michael's cell.

No answer.

I try again.

Still. No answer.

He always answers his phone...

I make phone calls to some of his friends. None have seen him, nor heard from him.

I meet up with Ashton, Luke, and Calum, to search the town for Michael.

-

No where. He's no where.
-

When I get home, I see Liz reading the newspaper, like always.

"Hey,"

She greets me without looking up from the paper.

"Hello."

I reply as I run up the stairs.

School tomorrow. That sucks. Another day of being made fun of.

-

The alarm on my phone goes off at 6:00 in the morning.

The sun shines through the blinds of my window and I squint my eyes and stretch my arms and legs to adjust to the morning.

I get dressed quickly and run down the stairs to get breakfast.

A piece of toast.

I don't need anything else.

I pack my binders into my backpack.

No lunch. I don't get very hungry during the day.

I take my light blue water bottle from the bottom drawer and fill it with ice water.

I unwrap the bandages on my arm that are now a little blood stained. Reaching to the top of a cabinet to get a fresh bandage.

My arms are a little soar.

I slowly wrap my wrist, being extra careful so I don't make it hurt more.
I tense up as I accidentally scrape my wrist.

-

My locker is small and compacted. It's neat though. Not too much stuff fills it. Just what I need.

A few books, my reading glasses, and 4 binders.

The usual group of boys and girls walk my way.

The "populars."

"Look who it is!"

The leader of the group announces.

"The ugliest girl in school!"

He continues and everyone laughs along with him.

I look down at the ground, trying to hide my face.

"Awwwwwe, looks like little Emelia's 'bout to cry!"

The girl that stands next the leader-- Jack-- steps in.

A girl from the back of the group steps up me. She stands in front of me and smiles. She shoves me hard into the lockers.
I fall onto the floor letting go of all my binders. The contents falling all over the hallway.

The group laughs as they walk away looking back at me with every step.

I take a deep breath and slowly start collecting all my papers.

No one helps. I wasn't expecting anyone to help.

-

School goes by very slow. But it eventually ends.

When I get home, I check my phone and call Luke Hemmings.

"Have you heard from Michael?"

I ask him.

"Nope. I'm really worried Emelia. We all are."

He sounded scared.

"He's never been gone for this long."

He continues with one more sentence.

"I'm worried too."
