"Where are you?" Ana asked warily as she crept from shadow to shadow. Her fingers curled around cold marble pillars as she glanced just ahead. "Show yourself!" Her voice echoed through the halls, surprisingly empty for a normal bustling palace.

" Ana..." a voice whispered, seemingly from the highest tower. Ana steeled herself and headed to the tower. At the foot of the narrow, cracked steps, Ana stood there and groaned. She began the laborious climb to the top, sword heavy in its scabbard.

"Ana..." the voice whispered again, breathing chills down her back. She shivered, and hurried up the slippery steps.

Her feet clattered against the marble floor, echoing in the surprisingly empty room. She glanced around warily, sword held awkwardly in her right hand. She took a step into the room, wincing at the harsh sound.

"Hello?" She asked the empty room, waiting for an answer.

" Ana, my dear," the king said as he casually strolled into the room, "how lovely to see you."
