Chapter 6

Elliana Pov:

It's been a few days since I've been here at Uconn. Everything was going well. Classes were going well. Soccer has been great we've just been preparing for the game we have tomorrow. I've grown closer to my teammates. I've been hanging out a lot with Issy, Nika, and Paige. Tyler and I hang out a lot. And Evina and I have gone out to eat and talk about how we were doing and just to spend time with each other.

I was currently in Nika and Paige's dorm with Issy. We were all watching a movie in their dorm. Nika was on a beanbag with popcorn in her hands. And Issy was on the other couch with a blanket wrapped over herself. I was sitting down on the couch with Paige. Her arm was wrapped around me, I honestly didn't mind it at all, I just leaned my head on her shoulder.

I then get a call from Sophie. I answer it.

"Heyo," I say into the phone

"You wanna go hang out with the team and boys team? We're all gonna go hang out with them at Geno's Restaurant." She asks over the phone

"Oh yeah sure, I'm with Issy right now so we'll go," I say agreeing over the phone

"Sweet we'll see you soon'' She says

"Yeah see you," I say hanging up the phone

I put my phone back in my pocket. Issy looks at me confused. "Do we have to go?" She asks

"The team and the boy's team are gonna hang out, they asked us if we wanted to go and I said yeah," I respond

She smiles and over time it widens to be pretty big. At this point, she's grinning from ear to ear. I smirk knowing exactly why, She has a crush on Jayden. Over time she developed this crush on Jarden Reid. She opens her mouth to say something but I cut her off.

"Yes your lover boy is going to be there," I say laughing

Nika looks at Issy with a smile on her face. She crosses her arm around her chest and looks sort of confused.

"You didn't tell me," She asks pointing a finger at her

Issy's face turns a crimson red, she's currently stuttering over her own words. I and Nika laugh at the state she's in.

"Do you actually have to go" Paige exclaims wrapping me in a hug while barriyng her head into my chest.

It was my turn to blush. I couldn't with her cuteness. I wrap my arms around her shoulders. "You can come if you want to," I look at Nika "You can too"

Paige looks at me and smiles, "Of course, I want to" She kisses my cheek before standing up and offering me a hand.

I take it and she pulls me up to my feet. We all put our shoes on and get ready to leave. We all start walking to Geno's Restaraunt. I'm walking in between Paige and Nika.

"So who's the lucky guy Is?" Nika asks with a smirk on her face

"Jayden Reid" I reply looking at her

Issy's face turns bright red again. She puts her hands on her face so we dont notice her blushing. But that failed cause we all saw her blush. Most of the walk was teasing Issy. After a while of teasing Issy, we left her alone.

We had finally arrived at Geno's Restaurant and tried to find the team. We ended up finding the table so we walked over there. I sat next to Tyler and Paige.

"What took you so long?" Soph asks

"Oh hey Paige, Nika" Jada greets

"Why are the basketballs here?" Mateo a guy on the men's soccer team asks

"Cause we actually like them?" I say raising my eyebrow

"You guys dont like me yet you invited us?" Moussa said

"Nobody invited you, you just came," Everybody on the soccer team says in unison

"Whatever" Moussa says rolling his eyes

The waiter came and asked us for our drinks. Most of us ordered water, but I ordered a sprite. I wanted something sweet, plus I just haven't had sprite in a while

"We all ordered waters and you are the only one that ordered sprite," Moussa says

I raise my eyebrow in confusion. "Your point"

"That you're the oddball of the group," He says in a matter-of-fact voice

I got a little hurt at the statement he just made. Normally I would ignore it but these constant statements he makes are just too much sometimes.

Paige must have seen the hurt look in my eyes because she grabbed my hand under the table and stroked the top of my hand with he thumb.

"Actually can you change mine to a sprite please?" Paige asks the waiter

Send a smile of gratitude to Paige. She smiles back at me as she continues to rub my hand with her thumb.

"You guys nervous for tomorrow," Kyle asks looking at me and the rest of the women's soccer team

"Not really," Jada says

"What about you two," Pablo asks looking at me and Issy

"Kind of, but I know I'm going to get over it," Issy says

They look at me. I shrug. "I mean kind of since I'm starting but I should be okay, I've been practicing for tomorrow so everything should be fine," I say honestly

"I got faith in you El," Tyler says

"Thanks, Ty" I respond smiling at him

"Nobody's gonna be able to score with Elli as the goalkeeper, I cant even score myself when she's defending," Lucy says laughing

"You guys should see her, she's a whole different person when she's on the field" Jada adds

"Trust me I have," Tyler says

I nudge him hard on his side. He groans in pain and holds his side where I nudged him. Everybody laughed at the interaction the two of us had.

The rest of the night was pretty good. We all talked and messed around with each other. We eventually got our food and ate. After we finished eating most of us left. But some of the rest stayed to talk more.

After about an hour and a half of talking and joking around with each other, we called it a night.

"Hey, Elli!?" A voice behind me called

I turn around to be facing Paige. She was jogging over to me. She stopped jogging toward me when she got pretty close to me.

"I have a question to ask you," She says

"Sure what's up?" I ask

"I know we met a few weeks ago but I just wanted to ask if you maybe-I dont know, want to go on a date with me sometime?" She asked looking at me with hope in those blue eyes I've learned to adore

"Of course, I would love to go on a date with you" I reply smiling

She smiles at me with the cutest smile I've ever seen.

"Cool, I'll pick you up after your game tomorrow" She says

"Looking forward to it"
