There's a piece of my heart in this book. One that I thought I would never be able to share. This book was for me. But now it's yours. Be gentle with it. Be gently with Ivy. She is everything I was at eighteen. I hope you feel an emotional connection to her, the same way I do. Treat her how the people in my life treated me.
I didn't have a Quinn in my life, not the way he is in the book. Because he's completely fictional. He says and does all the right things (most of the time) because he isn't real - keep that in mind. However, please never settle for someone that doesn't think of you the way he thinks of Ivy. And make sure to never lose your Hannah and Olivia.
I hope none of you go through the things Ivy does. And that I have. Though I guess everyone does some day, so know that you are strong enough to keep living. Know that you deserve a happy ending too.
