Stevie remained with her eyes closed right up until Lindsey gently closed the door to the bedroom from the other side, after he had pressed a kiss to her hair before rolling out of bed. Then, her eyes snapped open and she released the handful of the pillow she had been gripping tightly for some time. She wasn't ready to face Lindsey yet, so she stayed in bed, thinking about what the hell happened last night. She remembered telling Michael how she was completely over Lindsey, she had no romantic feelings for him any more countless times. A month or so later, she lay in his bed. At least, we didn't actually have sex, she thought. Not that a heavy make out session with just a few thin layers of clothes was any better.

About half an hour later, Stevie emerged from the bedroom and went in search of Lindsey. She soon found him downstairs, Will in his arms with a bottle. Stevie thought that Lindsey hadn't heard her coming, so she allowed herself a moment to look at him. She smiled to herself as she listened to him having a one sided conversation with his son.

"I know, you're standing there." Lindsey spoke up, turning towards her. He was slightly taken aback to see her still barefoot and in nothing but his shirt. "G-good morning."

"How did you know, I was here?" Stevie asked, coming into the room, she took a seat beside him.

Lindsey gave a one shoulder shrug. "I feel you." He answered with a light laugh. "How did you sleep?"

Okay, Stevie thought, he's not jumping right into it, good. "Better than I have slept in over a year."

That's oddly specific, Lindsey creased his eyebrows, then he realized that the lest time they slept together was a little over a year ago. "Me too." He smiled at her, taking the bottle away from Will when he was finished with breakfast. "I'll change and drive you home."

"I could..." Stevie trailed off, she looked down at her clasped hands. "I don't know, stay for coffee maybe?"

"Of course." Lindsey nodded without hesitation. He simply assumed, she wanted to get away from him as fast as possible.

Stevie was happy to take over the task of holding Will while Lindsey went into the kitchen. She didn't stay behind, though, she followed after him. They remained in comfortable silence for some time, until the sound of Stevie babytalking with his son, after she had just gotten out of the bed they shared during the night, became a little too much for him to handle.

"Are you hungry?" Lindsey asked, waiting for the water to boil.

"I'm good, thanks." Stevie declined with a smile, shaking her head.

There it was again. Lindsey wondered if maybe it was actually time to see a cardiologist and that it wasn't the undying love he was feeling for the only woman he wasn't supposed to.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" Stevie cocked her head to one side and only then Lindsey snapped back to the present moment.

"I, uh... I wasn't, I just..." He quickly turned away and looked for something to busy himself with. "You want sugar in your coffee?"

"Please." Stevie nodded, thinking how absolutely adorable he was being. "You don't have to worry about, you know, last night." She said and he faced her again. "We're good. I'm not going to disappear for another six months."

Lindsey breathed out heavily and a small smile tugged at his lips. He'd been wondering about that the whole morning.
