(Third Person POV)
Kate and Y/N lay side by side, Y/N's head on Kate's chest and Kate's arm wrapped around her, pulling her closer.
"I love the ring"
Y/N mumbles holding her hand up to gaze at her ring.
"And I love you"
Kate mumbles, lacing their fingers together.
Y/N turns her head to look at Kate.
"Can our wedding be in spring?"
She asks her fiancé.
Kate chuckles at her girlfriends words.
"Whatever you want babe"
"It can't be whatever I want. It's your wedding too"
Kate presses a kiss against her fiancés ring.
"All that matters to me is that you have the wedding of your dreams. I promise I will do whatever it takes to make that happen"
Kate presses their lips together softly before the door is opened.
"Mom!"
Kate quickly covers both herself and Y/N.
"Oh, shit, sorry!"
Eleanor yells, covering her eyes.
"I just came to tell you that Jack wanted to apologise, so come down when you're done"
She quickly stutters out before closing the door.
Y/N hides her face in Kate's shoulder, blushing.
"Are you okay?"
Y/N nods before standing up.
"We should probably go down"
She mumbles.
Kate sighs, putting her clothes back on before walking down the long flight of stairs with her fiancé.
"You wanted us down here?"
Kate asked her mom.
"Yes, Jack wanted to apologise"
Eleanor looked towards her fiancé.
"Kate, I am very sorry for downplaying and my skill and for lying about it"
Y/N nudges Kate, when she doesn't reply.
"It's fine"
She mumbles.
"We actually have some news"
Y/N says with excitement in her voice.
"What news?"
Eleanor asks, curious.
"We're engaged"
Kate says, pulling Y/N closer.
"Congratulations!"
Jack and Eleanor say in unison.
"Thanks"
Kate says.
When Jack goes to the bathroom, Kate and
Y/N follow Eleanor into the other room.
"Jack is hiding something"
Kate says, sternly.
"Really? This again?"
Eleanor asks, annoyed,
"Isn't it weird that the night his uncle threatens you, he gets killed by a sword? How many people do you think get killed by a sword in New York?"
Kate says, taking off her jacket.
"Katie, maybe you should let this go. Even if he is hiding something, she can handle herself"
Y/N says, rubbing her fiancés arm.
"Listen to Y/N, Kate. I'm your mom, I'm supposed to be protecting you"
"I'm not a kid anymore"
"And you're not a superhero. The thing with Armand is awful but the police will deal with it"
Kate sighs in response.
"Don't snoop anymore. You could get hurt and it won't just be scrapes on the knees"
"There was a ninja suit and a street gang and Molotov cocktails"
Kate says in exasperation.
"What are you talking about now? A street gang?!"
Eleanor asks, annoyed and confused.
"What's in a Molotov cocktail? Are you girls old enough to drink?"
Jack says, entering the room.
"I know your scared of what will happen after you graduate, Kate, but we already know what will happen"
Eleanor says carefully.
"Oh yeah? What's that?"
"You'll work at Bishop Security officially, like we've planned"
"Like you've planned. I don't want that"
Y/N squeezes Kate's hand comfortingly.
"Kate, use one foot at a time and I promise you'll be happy where you are"
Kate looks down.
"Fine, whatever"
"Now, why don't you apologise to Jack"
Kate looks over to Jack.
"Sorry for scaring you into telling the truth"
She says with a fake smile.
"Smart and witty"
Jack smiles.
Eleanor walks over to get a drink from Jack.
He walks over to Kate and takes something from his pocket.
"Would you girls like a butterscotch?"
Kate's eyes widen as Y/N takes a butterscotch from his hand.
"Kate, what are you doing?"
Y/N asks as her fiancé grabs her jacket.
"We need to go. I just looked at the time"
Kate says, giving Y/N her jacket.
"Mom, we'll call you later"
Kate rushes out, dragging Y/N to the door.
"Love you!"
Eleanor calls out as the door closes.
Kate waves over a taxi as she dials Clint's number.
"Kate? Are you gonna tell me what's going on?"
Y/N asks, worried about her fiancé.
"Uh. Yeah, in a minute"
They get into the taxi.
Kate tells the driver their location as she leaves Clint a voicemail.
"Should I try again? Yeah, I should"
She says to Y/N.
She dials the number again and this time there's a response.
"You know, back to back calls aren't always the right move but this time it worked"
Kate says on the phone.
She quickly hangs up the phone.
"What's wrong?"
Y/N asks.
"Uh, that wasn't him"
Kate quickly tracks the phones location.
"Can you please speed up?"
Kate asks the driver in a scared tone as Y/N grabs her hand comfortingly.
When they get to Clint's location, Kate looks at Y/N.
"You wait here"
Y/N's face turns angry.
"What? No! I'm coming with you!"
She yells.
"It's dangerous!"
"It's dangerous for you too!"
When they hear a sound coming from inside, Kate sighs and Y/N onto the roof before climbing up herself.
Kate crashes through the roof and Y/N lands on top off her, the girls groaning in pain.
When Kate looks up, she sees men holding guns up to them.
She quickly helps Y/N on her feet.
"I didn't know we were supposed to bring guns"
Kate says, eyes wide.
The men grab the girls and tie them to a mall ride.
Kate was sat in front of Y/N and Clint was on the ride next to them.
Clint glares at the girls.
"I was trying to help"
Kate mumbles to the man.
"I was about to clear your name before you fell from the roof"
He continues to glare.
"Oh"
Y/N mumbles as she wraps her arms tighter around Kate's waist that her hands were taped around.
"We'll get out of this"
Kate mumbles quietly to her fiancé.
