(Third Person POV)

"Babe, I know what you're thinking-"
Kate's cut off when Y/N begins talking-shouting-again.

"If you don't want to be with me, just say it. Don't run off and avoid my calls! That's not how you break up with someone!"
Kate's eyes widen in shock at Y/N's revelation.

"I don't wanna break up with you! Y/N, babe, listen to me. You are the best thing that has ever happened to me. I love you more than anyone and I swear I'm gonna marry you one day. I'll explain what's going on in just a minute. I just have to get changed first"
Kate walks forward and takes Y/N's hands in hers before pulling her into her.
The sound of a throat being cleared snaps them out of their moment.

"Oh! Y/N, this is Hawkeye. Hawkeye, this is my girlfriend, Y/N"
Kate says proudly, pulling her girlfriend into her side.

"Nice to meet you"
Hawkeye says quietly.
Y/N smiles in return.

"It's nice to meet you as well, Hawkeye"

"Please, call me Clint"
He replies awkwardly.

"So, nice place you got here"

"Thanks, I inherited it"
Kate tells him.

"How old are you guys, 18?"
He asks.

"We're 22"
Y/N tells Clint with a polite smile.

"Same thing"
He mumbles in reply.
He looks towards Kate.

"Do you wanna take that vest off so I can go?"
He asks, impatient.
Kate looks at herself.

"Yeah, I'll be right back"
Clint nods.
Kate mumbles all the way up the stairs to the bedroom and Y/N smiles at how dorky her girlfriend is.

"How long have you girls been together anyway?"
He asks, looking around the apartment.
Y/N looks towards him.

"It was our 7th anniversary a few months ago, right Katie?"
Y/N calls to her girlfriend who is walking down the stairs, now in a purple sweatshirt and sweatpants.
Kate wraps her arm around Y/N's shoulder when she hands Clint the suit.

"Yeah, we've been friends for about 14 though"
Kate smiles in reminisce.

A 7 year old girl sits alone on a swing set, watching some kids kick around a football.
She hears footsteps approaching her as she turns to look towards them.

"Are you ok?"
The girl asks with a concerned face.

The girl on the swing nods and looks away.
The concerned girl sits next to her and holds out her hand.

"I'm Kate. What's your name?"
The lonely girl takes the hand that Kate was holding out.

"My name's Y/N"
She mumbles, shyly.

"Do you wanna throw a ball with me? Those guys are so annoying"
Kate asks with a kind voice.
Y/N nods and stands up, Kate dragging them both to a different part of the park.

"You've always been so sweet, even back then"
Y/N says, her voice muffled by Kate's shoulder.
Kate kisses her forehead before explaining the whole situation to Y/N and Clint.
She looks towards Clint.

"So, I have so many questions for you now. Starting with, can you sign this?"
She pulls out her bow.
Clint eyes her with a judging look.

"I'm not done yet"
He sighs.

"When you are, can you sign my bow? You're my favorite avenger"
Y/N giggles at her girlfriend.
Her face then turns concerned.

"Katie, are you okay?"
Kate looks towards her.

"Oh! Yeah, you should see the other guys"

"I did. Tracksuit Mafia"
He says, obviously.

"That's their name? Isn't that a little on the nose?"
Kate asks in a judging tone.

"Are they the ones that killed my moms fiancé's uncle?"
Clint's face turns confused.

"You-you're moms fiancé's uncle?"

"Armand the 3rd. There's at least 7"
Y/N replies.

"I-I do not know"
Clint tells the girls.

"Did anyone see your face?"
Clint asks Kate.

"Nope. I kept the mask on like a pro"
Kate tells him with a proud smile.

"Okay, the person that wore this suit made a lot of enemies"

"That doesn't sound good"
Kate cuts in.

"Did you tell anybody about it?"
Clint asks.
Kate looks at Y/N

"I told Y/N"

"Anyone else?"
He makes sure.
Kate shakes her head.

"Are you connected to the suit? I need you to be sure"

"I'm not connected to it at all"
Kate replies.

"The tracksuits followed you from the auction. Did you go anywhere before then?"
Clint asks the archer.

"I came here"
There's a yell from outside the apartment saying Kate's name.

"And my name's on the buzzer"
Kate looks embarrassed.
Clint pushes the girls down before a Molotov is thrown through the window.
He runs towards the broken window and throws a Molotov back at the tracksuits.
Kate shoots an arrow through the window before they are able to throw another one.

"I told ya"
Kate says smugly.

"We gotta get that suit"
Clint tells over the chaos.
Kate shoots an arrow at the fire extinguisher and it goes flying through the room and out the window.

"Do you have a fire escape?"
Clint asks the girls as they watch their home burn.

"Our home!"
Y/N says sadly.

"Our stuff!"
Kate yells.

"Grab the dog and get out of here!"
Clint yells to the girls.

"What about the suit?"
Kate asks the man.

"I'll come back for it"
Clint tells her as they all run out of the apartment.

When they get to the train station, Y/N starts the conversation.

"Where are we going?"
She asks as they walk down the stairs.

"I need to get some things"
He tells her.

"Avenger stuff?"
Kate asks with and excited face and tone.

"Not really"
Clint shakes his head.

"This is kind of disappointing, Hawkeye"
Kate says with pursed lips.

"Well, sorry about that"
He says, annoyed.
He looks at Y/N.

"Can you grab some of that rubbing alcohol?"
She nods as she kneels down to pick it up.

"So are we going to your safe house? Avengers tower?"
Kate asks, taking Y/N's hand in her's.
Y/N laces their fingers together.
Clint shakes his head.

"Tony sold that a few years ago"
He replies, walking to the checkout.

"That is so sad"
Y/N tells Kate, holding the dog in the other hand.
