The New Archer (Kate Bishop x Fem!Reader)

1- The Bell Tower

(Third Person POV)

"So, do you think the bell swings back and forth or the dangly thing in the middle swig back and forth?"
Kate asks through the phone as her friends stood at the bottom of the building.
Franny and Greer share a confused look.

"It's the bell, obviously"
Greer told the archer as she prepared her shot.

"Yeah? I don't think so. What do you think babe?"
Kate asked her girlfriend.

"I think you look really great in that outfit. But about the bell, I dunno Katie, but it's two against one so I think you should try the bell"
Y/N said in a unsure tone.

"Yeah, well, maybe later I can show you what's underneath"
Kate replies aiming for her shot.
As the arrow bounces off the bell, Kate lets out an annoyed sigh.

"Don't worry babe, you should try the dangly thingy now"
Y/N tells her girlfriend as she perks up and grabs another arrow.
As Kate shoots the other arrow, it grabs on to the rope and loudly rings the bell.

"Oh my god, that was amazing!"
Kate yells out, cheering.
As Y/N goes to join Kate on top of the building, they all hear a creak coming from the tower.

"That's fine. It gives it personality, all almost famous bells have cracks in them"
Kate says in a nervous tone.

The bell falls down.

"That's, maybe, not so good, but it could be worse"

The tower crashes down.

"This is bad"
Greer and Franny run away when they hear a guard open the door.
Y/N runs up to the tower to join Kate when she sees the security guard shining his light at her.
Kate chuckles nervously as she point behind her to the tower.

"You're coming with me"
The security guard grabs onto Kate's arm as he pulls her through the school.
Y/N follows behind them as they reach the office.

"You, sit down there"
He points to Y/N as she takes a seat outside the principals office.
The guard drags Kate inside as she eyes Y/N nervously.

The guard pushes Kate into a seat in the office in front of the principal.

"Why did you do it?"
The principal asks the girl seriously.

"It was a dare"
She mumbles under her breath.

"You destroyed an ancient tower because of a dare?"

"I, Uh, didn't mean to destroy it. It just kinda happened like tha-" she rambles on before he cuts her off.

"If it weren't for your mom we would have expelled you by now"
Kate nodded.

"Did Y/N L/N have anything to do with this?"
Kate's eyes shoot up.

"No, no! She was just coming up because I called her to figure out how to fix it. She didn't go near the bell!"
Kate rambles, trying to stop her girlfriend from getting in trouble.

"Well, we will be calling your mom and you will receive a suspension. That will be all, you can go now"
Kate nodded as she stood up and walked towards Y/N.
Y/N stood up quickly and wrapped her arms around her taller girlfriend.

"Is everything ok? What happened?"
Her voice is muffled because her face is in Kate's shoulder.
Kate reciprocates the hug.

"They're calling my mom and I have a suspension. It's all good though"
Kate leans in to give her girlfriend a kiss.

As Y/N and Kate are walking hand in hand through New York. Kate's phone rings.

"Hey mom!"
"Yeah we just got here, we're just gonna stop by our place then come over"
"Okay, yeah, okay we'll see you soon"
Kate hangs up the phone
She turns towards her girlfriend.

"We've gotta go to my moms first, jacks over"
She wraps her arm around her girlfriends waist and pulls her into her side.
Y/N leans her head on Kate's shoulder.

"Please don't start trouble, Katie. I'm too tired to help you out"

"I'm not gonna do anything babe, we'll go, we'll say hi, then we'll have a movie night with pizza"

"That sounds nice"
Y/N sighs out in relief.
Kate presses a kiss against her head.

As they get to the door, a man opens it for them.

"Hey, hows it going? Wife, kids all good?"

"They're wonderful, merry Christmas!"

"Hi girls" they hear Eleanor's voice as they walk into her place.
Y/N lets go of Kate to greet Eleanor.

"Hi Eleanor" she says as she gives the older girl a hug.

"Hi mom, you look amazing. What's the occasion?"
Kate mirrors her girlfriends actions.

"Charity auction" Kate grunts. "I know right? All the poor people relying on the more fortunate" her mom replies, sarcastically.

"That is not what I meant and you know it"
Kate replies in an annoyed tone.

"So Y/N, mind telling my why I have to replace an irreplaceable clock tower on Kate's behalf? I would ask her but I don't know how long it would take to get the truth.
She eyes her daughter.
Y/N giggles as Kate makes a sound of offense.

"When have I ever lied to you? And it wasn't a clock, it was a bell"

The dean said it had a clock and a bell, and you being and overachiever, you managed to destroy both"
Kate sighs in reply. Y/N grabs her hand to comfort her and Kate laces their fingers together.

"What can I do to make it up to you mom?"

"I started by canceling your credit cards, and we are going to have a longer talk about this without joking"
Kate looks down.

"I know rich people think they're invincible and young people think they're invincible and you have always been both. Take it from someone who hasn't , you're not. You will get hurt, so please, don't go looking for it"
Eleanor eyes her down.

"Sorry, mom"
Kate mumbles in reply.

"You get that from your father"

"Why don't you make it up to me by dressing up and coming with me tonight? Both of you"
Eleanor says to both of the girls.

"Sure mom"
Kate says in a low tone.
Y/N walks up to them.

"I would love to go"
She says in a cheerful tone.

Kate wraps her arm around her girlfriends shoulder.
