Chapter Twenty One ~ Number 25

May all racers get ready at the start line..

Isa-isa nang naglapitan ang mga kotse ng mga kalahok. 48 racers from Asia ang kasali. Lima lang ang nagqualify na Filipina at kasama si Sarah doon kaya lima silang may nakatatak na flag ng Pilipinas sa kotse nila.

"There you go, Ms. Asher Geronimo with a solid number 25 in that pink car." the announcer told. Nagpalakpakan naman ang mga tao nang iflash ang kotse nya sa LED display.

"Be safe Love." Bulong ni Matteo.

"Guidicelli, akyat muna tayo, maganda ang view doon. Baba na lang tayo pag last lap na." sabi ng team coach nila.

"Just watch Asher, mawawala ang kaba mo. Magaling sya, pagtiwalaan natin yun." dagdag nito.

A 30-second countdown timer flashed at the biggest LED display. All racers started their engine.

"Yes Coach, I trust her. I know she can do it."

She hit the acceleration pedal and everyone could hear the screeching sound of the wheels.

"Haruno of Japan at number 1. She's on to second lap!" the announcer told.

"Hoy Betty! Ano, pababayaan na lang ba natin na mauna yung pangit na kotse sa harapan mo?" Sarah told her car while driving.

"We'll win this. I love youuuuuuu! Stay safe!" halos mapatalon sya nang marinig nya ang recording ni Matteo.

Nakavoice recognition ang program na iyon sa kotse kaya natrigger at nagplay nang magsalita si Sarah.

"Woah! I love you! Let's do this!" she said.

She held the gearshift and started changing the speed to a faster phase. She looked at the side mirrors but unfortunately, she didn't have the space she needed to take the lead. Ang layo na ni Japan sa kanya, at hindi pa sya siguro kasali sa top five nang matapos nya ang first lap.

"Focus Sarah. You can do this." she whispered.

Then she stepped on the accelerator again and tried to overtake Vietnam. But a change in trail varied her speed. She steps on the breaks and accelerator simultaneously during side turns.

"Asher from the Philippines just hit the top 10 place.", the announcer shouted. Sinundan naman ito ng malakas na hiyawan ng mga manunuod.

"Look at her Guidicelli. Ang simple ng drifting!" their assistant coach told Matteo. Nakapwesto sila sa may malapit sa announcer kaya kitang kita nila ang mga ginagawa ng bawat racers. Pero sa isang kotse lang nakafocus si Matt, kay Sarah yun.

"Japan still leading and goes to the third lap!" the announcer told. Everyone's fingers were crossed, praying for Sarah to enter the top five and also for her safety. Sumabog kasi ang gulong ng Indonesian representative kaya kinabahan na ang lahat.
